"Eh? What's this game got to do with Final Fight?" I here you shout out quietly. Well this game has a 2 characters from Final Fight in it, these being Haggar and Jessica. The game was released in 1993 and coveted to the SNES and Mega Drive in 1994. This game was a wrestling game with a few modes such as team battle royal and normal one on one wrestling. Haggar is a wrestler here, because this game is set before Final Fight.

In Japan it was called Muscle Bomber, but of course that sounded rubbish over here so it was given a US/Europe friendly name of Saturday Night Slam Masters. Almost all of the wrestlers were given different names in US/Europe conversions, but of course Mike Haggar's name wasn't changed since he had been called that in all the versions of Final Fight.

Haggar's moves include his spinning clothesline, drop kick and combo punches from Final Fight. There are also characters that are rumoured to be friends with Street Fighters. Chun Li and E.Honda from Street Fighter 2 can also be seen in the crowd if you look hard enough. If you win as Haggar, sometimes Jessica comes on and Haggar lifts her up to his shoulder. Jessica then throws confetti out and Haggar throws his arm up in to the air.

One mistake with the piece about Haggar's background is that it says he was the former Mayor....but Slam Masters is set before Final Fight. I doubt the plot canon guide existed back then anyway.

This game is quite good but kind of useless with just 1 player, since the computer opponents are far to hard and have way to much priority with throws. But with 3 other people it's actually quite good. The game was also converted to the Super Nintendo and the Mega Drive/Genesis on year later. The SNES version was better since it had the 4 player option but still had the annoying difficulty level. However on SEGA's machine the difficult was much better, but there was no 4 player mode. Instead they had a "death match" mode where there were traps outside the ring, plus there were extra win/loss quotes for each character.
