Sometimes you really have to wonder why some video games were made. Take all the army men games, for example. Everyone said the first one was rubbish, yet even though 3DO no longer exist Army Men games are STILL being made, and they are all STILL getting low scoring marks off everyone. But they keep coming.
Now take Final Fight Guy. This is the exact same game, and I mean EXACT, as the original Final Fight game on the Super NES, but Cody is gone and Guy is now present. Sounds good doesn't it? Well, at least if you like Guy. But then look at the year of Final Fight Guy's release. 1994. So, Final Fight CD, Final Fight 2, Streets of Rage 2 and 3 are already out, meaning why on Earth would anyone want this?
When this was released, it was really out of date. Scrolling beat 'em ups had moved on, and to release an exact same version as before with one difference is, quite frankly, shocking. And I mean that- level 4 is still missing, and there still isn't a 2 player mode. Capcom have been really lazy, and should have made a revised version that had a 2 player mode, like Final Fight 2 had.
But, if you have neither games today and you have a Super NES, than this might be the time to get this. If you love Guy that is. Remember, this is the same game as before but with Guy in, so take a look at the original's review for a more in depth look at the game. But, in the end, the fact that there hasn't been any improvements is poor and at the time of release this really was looking tired.
