INTERESTING STUFF

Sometimes, somewhere, before time began, interesting stuff existed. And it still exists today, even in video games. And that includes the Final Fight series of games, just about everyone of them. So here you can look at some of the "interesting" things in the final fight games that aren't at any other points of the site. Interesting.

The Final Fight 3 and Aliens connection
It’s some pulse rifles
In the last level of Final Fight 3, you will go past some glass cabinets. Take a look in the glass cabinets to see some very interesting things. First off, look at the gun- it's the same as the pulse rifles seen in Aliens.
It’s some power loaders.
Also, if you look at another of the cabinets you can see the legs and one of the arms off the power loader, which Ripley used to fight the queen in Aliens. What on earth are these things doing in Final Fight 3? My only guess is that because Capcom some kind of 20 Century Fox license since they made Alien vs. Predator the year before. And no, before anyone asks, you can't use the pulse rifle or power loader against Skull Cross gang members, which is a shame.

Was level 4 going to be in Final Fight SNES?

On either Final Fight or Final Fight Guy on the SNES, use the cheat code to get the hidden options menu. (The left screenshot is from Final Fight, the right is from Final Fight Guy) Go to tune 0A in Final Fight and nothing will play. Was this suppose to be the other music from level 4? Track 09 (the one before it) was also used as the first part of level 4 in the arcade (and was also used in part of level 6 (level 5 on the SNES)) However, on Final Fight Guy play track 09 and the "missing" music will actually play! Was the lost level 4 originally going to be in the SNES version? Was it even closer to being in Final Fight Guy? Who knows, but it is strange that the missing tune was added because it's almost Capcom added the extra tune in Final Fight Guy for a purpose. Maybe the missing level is still in the cart, incomplete. If only I knew someone who could hack a rom...

Final Fight One Missing Music

These two tunes aren't used in the game but you can listen to them in the options menu. Track no.8 is from the first part of level 4. However, in the actual game, the music from the first part of level 1 is used for some strange reason. Track no.11 is the introduction music, but in the actual intro the music from the bit in level 3 where you fight the Andore's in the caged arena is used. Why did they bother putting these tracks in then not use them? Also, the glass smash bonus game was put after stage 5 instead of 4, suggesting that they ported the SNES version over to the Gba first and then put level 4 in.

Does this belong to Sodom?

Many people seem to have a strange obsession with this piece of armour, found in the last round of Final Fight 2. People say that it belongs to Sodom, but I really don't think that this is true. It doesn't look like his armour at all, and the only reason I can think of is that it is Japanese, thus making it Sodom's. The thing is though, Sodom is an American who wants to be Japanese. Oh well, go figure it out for yourself.

Maki looks different

Maki's sprite in Final Fight 2 often looks a lot different than in the picture of her at screens such as character select screen, as you can see. Well, it's her face and hair really. Her sprite has red coloured hair but the pictures give her blonde She also has a big fringe in the pictures, but her sprite doesn't really have one at all. In the picture of her in the ending to the game (where she says "Daddy!! Rena!!") she has a red ring around her neck and you can't see the part of the costume that covers her shoulders, meaning that her costume design is different. Maki's sprite has grey hair clip, but in the pictures it is red. The bracelet things she wears are also the same colours as her skin in the pictures, but on her sprite they are coloured grey.

Bad translation time

Bad translations are common as they were then as they are now. Here are two from Final Fight 3.

Enemy wave problems

As most people know, Final Fight's enemies come on in waves. However if you don't kill them all and move onwards so the next wave of enemies come on, the CPU simply forgets about the original wave. This means that if you leave the first 3 enemies you see on the second part of stage 1 alone, for instance, and kill the next lot, you will move on to the third part of the level with the original wave of enemies of screen, moving around trying to hit you. Cool huh?

Levitating weapons

In some versions of Final Fight (Final Fight CD for one) when you use some weapons they have about a frame lag time, as the first screen shot shows. More hilarious is when you jump, because characters don't bother holding weapons at all! This doesn't happen in all versions though, such as the Super Nintendo Final Fight games.

Black=Heidern

This one is just obvious. Capcom too a look at Heidern from King of Fighters '94 and thought that he would make a pretty cool boss. Black even has a stick, which is what Heidern uses when he is watching the fight in the earlier games. As well as the stick, check out the hat, the eye patch, the belt and the boots.

Screwed up Palette

"Mummy, I broke it" Whilst playing Final Fight CD one time the palette decided to go wrong on certain background characters, making them have orange and green clothes. It's because of Guy's orange costume that did it. The old man reading the paper also froze during this time. On the right you can see what it is suppose to look like, so it doesn't happen all the time.

Final Fight 2 Continue screens

In the continue screens for Final Fight 2, each character is tied up in a different way. This is the first and last time this happens in a Final Fight game.
