Final Fight References
There are plenty of little things in Final Fight that are cool references to something else. This section covers all of the known ones so far.
The enemies Axl and Slash from Final Fight are a reference to the band members of the same name from Guns and Roses. Axl looks kind of like his real life counter part. Slash doesn't. And I don't really think the real ones go around doing hammer punches or roundhouse kicks on people.
Hey, it looks like 2P from Final Fight wasn't always a bad guy, and was in fact the second playable character in Forgotten Worlds. Forgotten Worlds, by the way, was also a game by Capcom and was released a year before Final Fight came out. Well, some people believe 2P looks similar to him anyway.
Who are these people above? There called Sodom and they do music, apparently. Maybe Capcom changed Sodom name to Katana in the US/PAL version since they thought Sodom would make people want to play really bad music. If Sodom the band are really bad, of course. I don't know.
There is a band called Poison, which was around in the 80's. The one on the left looks quite a lot like Poison, eh? They are all men you know.
Hey, it's the band, The Damned. And here is a Final Fight boss, Damnd! It's a reference, according to my brother.
King Diamond released a album called Abigail. The 5th round of Final Fight had a boss called Abigail, complete with King Diamond like face paint.
Originally Andore was going to be called Andre, named after the wrestler Andre the giant. However Capcom thought this was kind of inappropriate and just changed it so it sounded exactly the same and yet was slightly different. Andre the giant died in the late 80's.
