May 18, 2003: MAME 0.68 is out, and guess what? It has rudimentary support for multiple mice! (with the same limits of analog+)

What does this mean for Mame:Analog+? I'm still trying to get out version 0.68.1 under directX 8, but it looks like after that I'll "port" the code back to directX 7 that mame is now using. "Port" has quotes because I think most of the work will be deleting dx8 specific code in the compile time #if (dx8) dx8-code #else dx5-code #endif. After that, I'll see what I can submit to mame. Don't worry, I'll still keep Analog+ going; plus if mame adopts (stronger) win98/ME multiple mice support, I'll have more time to try working on winXP.

BTW, Mame:Analog+ 0.68.1 looks to be out (hopefully) before next weekend.

April 23, 2003: Mame:Analog+ ver 0.67.2 binary and diff files on the download page. Win32, Dos, and mame32 builds.

Besides including mame32 & DOS builds this time, changes are mostly lightgun reload and aiming hacks & fixes by foster (thanks foster!). Also, easier to compile in dx5 for both win32 and mame32 builds: "make -f makefile.mak5". DirectX 5 builds do not support multiple mice or multiple lightguns, but otherwise is the same as the standard directX 8 Mame:Analog+; might use dx5 for your personal builds for winXP computers, since winXP does not support multiple mice or multiple lightguns in Mame:Analog+, either.

April 10, 2003: Win32 build of Mame:Analog+ ver 0.67.1 binary and source files on the download page.

Added: 720° analog joystick input support. 720° 8 way joystick input support. Lethal Enforcers 2 reload support
Improved: Dual lightgun support. Tell me how the dual guns goes on your system if you use it.

March 20, 2003: DOS build of Mame:Analog+ ver 0.66.1 binaries and source files on the download page.

March 14, 2003: ALPHA testers still wanted! If you have two USB lightguns, windows 98 or ME, and want to test dual lightgun support, PM me at any of the mame.net, mameworld.net, or BYOAC forums, or email me to get more info. This is ALPHA testing, so don't expect easy plug and play fun, but a couple big improvements over last version.

March 14, 2003: Mame:Analog+ ver 0.66.1 binaries and source files on the download page for windows & mame32 builds.

March 4, 2003: Small update: I received my second actlab lightgun yesterday, and I can play area51 with two lightguns without the problem of same time trigger pulls, but ALPHA testers still wanted!

February 27, 2003: ALPHA testers wanted! If you have two USB lightguns, windows 98 or ME, and want to test dual lightgun support, PM me at any of the mame.net, mameworld.net, or BYOAC forums, or email me to get more info. This is ALPHA testing, so don't expect easy plug and play fun.

February 27, 2003: Mame65.2:Analog+ binaries and source files on the download page for windows, dos, & mame32 builds. Only real change: added area51 reload (thanks fosters), 720 calibration wheel (thanks jerryjanis), and arch rivals & pigskin 49way-joystick simulation (thanks SirPoonga).

February 17, 2003: Mame65.1:Analog+ binaries and source files on the download page for windows, dos, & mame32 builds. Windows build includes two options to help split mouse axis for spinner play (see d/l and features pages for a few more details).

February 3, 2003: Mame64.1:Analog+ binaries and source files on the download page for windows and mame32 builds. Windows build includes two options to help split mouse axis for spinner play (see d/l and features pages for a few more details).

January 27, 2003: Mame63.2:Analog+ binaries and source files on the download page. I will not have dos and mame32 builds for version 0.63 because Mame0.64 is out already!

January 23, 2003: Finally put up Mame63:Analog+ binaries and source files on the download page. The dos and mame32 builds are to come (edit: not sorry, see above).

November 23, 2002: Finally put up Mame62:Analog+ binaries and source files on the download page. The standard windows, dos, and mame32 builds.

September 6, 2002: CA Extreme this weekend. I'm going to help with the LaserMAME booth.

September 3, 2002: My dialup ISP seems to have gone out of business, after not answering the modem lines and putting "we are having minor problems" on their answering machine for over two weeks. I've used friends internet connections up to now, hoping they will fix the problem. Time for broadband?
edit: my ISP is back up, but after this two week lapse, I think I'm going to upgrade anyway. At least I'm back online again for now.

Update for Mame32:Analog+ ver .61.2.1 for mame32. Fixes a joystick bug in the Mame32:Analog+ Mame32 UI, and makes it easier to compile with directX5 if you want (although that would remove multiple mice feature). This is only for the Mame32 build of analog+.

Mame:Analog+ ver .61.2 for windows, mame32, and dos are available. Mostly minor fixes, many contributed by Derrick Renaud. (see features page) Also, a simple howto compile html file is now included in the source and diff zip files, also contributed by Derrick. And, if all those warnings you get while compiling really bug you, you also download some replacement dX8 headers that get rid of the warnings, also contributed by, guess who, Derrick. Thanks a lot Derrick!

Mame32:Analog+ ver.61.1 (mame32 build) is available.

A list of all inputs, ver 0.2 (mame.61), is available for those who want it. I'm learning mySQL, too, so I might release a real database at some point, too.

Mame:Analog+ ver.61.1 for windows and dos are available. This is not tested for lightguns yet, and may still have some other minor bugs due to the official Mame v.61 merging a bunch of the code. (see features page)
In fact mame now has all the features from Mame:Pedal and the mapping analog joystick input, ect, in the last annoucement! So no need for Mame:Pedal; just use the official mame!

Mame:Pedal has been combined with some other stuff pulled from Analog+: mappable analog joystick inputs, analog pedal separate from game's Y axis, and is ready for dual separate pedals & 3 analog axes games (true support will added to drivers in a later release). This code was also submitted to mameDev. Source is uploaded now. *edit* Basically all the code was accepted in ver .61!

A list of all inputs for all games with source, ver 0.1. This is for the FE mame input labeling project, if wanted.

A PPro optimized dos mame .60 that has the "-hotrod" and "-hotrodse" options compiled back in available for download from my speedhost site. You can also download the source if you want to compile your own version (example: without PPro optimizations). (binary / source)

Mame:Analog+ v.60.3 already! Added support for three analog axes (X, Y, and pedal). So games that currently use X axis, Y axis, and a pedal can have all or any in analog with no conflicts! Other fixes include repairs to analog pedal inputs. Mame32:Analog+ version coming soon. (download page)

Mame:Analog+ v.60.2 is out! New feature added: analog joysticks are remapped correctly just like digital inputs. This replaces the "-switchjoy" option. A bug with the analog pedals in analog+ was also fixed. The source of just the new analog joystick remap feature is also available. Both are WIP and should have more changes soon (I hope ). (download page)

Mame:Analog+ v.60.1 and MamePedal v.60.1 for dos and windows are up for downloading.
Mame32:Analog+ 60.1 for windows is up. I am now using a numbering scheme more like AdvancedMame. (download page)

ReadMe for mamePedal, and working on a ReadMe for Mame:Analog+.

No more 124MB download from MS for 2 megs of files! Dev-C++ (a free IDE that uses mingw) has a directX 8 "package" (read: zip file) that works with Mame's mingw! I compiled Mame:Analog+ with multiple mice with the package and MameMingw. The zip file is on this page. For now, to make it work with Analog+, you need to type: make -D_MSC_VER=1000   This may also help others who are having problems compiling Mame:Analog+ for windows.

I now have a high throughput web provider (speedhost). I will still keep the mirrors up, but I now suggest going to the speedhost site if you want to download the big files.

Microsoft upgraded to directX 8.1 and doesn't let people download 8.0 in parts anymore. Analog+ compiles fine with the 8.1 headers, so you can use directX 8.1 SDK with no problems (besides the fact you only need ~1% of the 120+ MB M$ forces you to download). (more details)
