Biography Of Mizkarrage of Justice

The band started its life as a 4 piece outfit, Guitarist Bev, Bassist Starkey, Drummer Sam and singer James. This seemed to work well, the music created fuelled the guys to work harder producing heavier riffs, intense solos and astonishing vocals.

However after a key gig played at the Josephs Well in June 2001 the guys decided the band needed more to it. The music needed more depth and due to Bevs soloing ability they needed something more in the background then simply a Bass.

The answer, move Starkey to Rhythm Guitar and bring in a new Bassist. So they did and in June 2001 a friend of the band, Slinn joined as the Bassist.

The combination worked well and for a while people waited in anticipation for the first gig as a 5 piece.

Another low key gig followed at the Packhorse Pub in Leeds which was reviewed on the Leeds Music Scene web site.

And then came the EP, long awaited and long worked at. Featuring the 4 favourite Mizkarrage songs the EP was Mixed and Mastered by Gareth at Frost Hill Studios.

The EP retails for £3.99 and is kick ass for their first ever recording.

Next on the list of Mizkarrage Of Justices' list of happenings was the departure of the lead singer James. Musical indifferences were the main reason. James left the band on Dec 22nd and will be a very much missed member.

"James has left to pursue a different style of musical career which was fine by us, in the end he will be good at what he is dedicated to"

So looking for a new singer MOJ decided they couldn't be assed auditioning, so staying as a 4-piece Starkey stepped up to the lead vocalist position. Practice sessions continued and their first gig as a new 4-piece was set to be the 23rd February 2002.

DONT MISS IT.

However this set up only lasted for a few gigs until the end of April, when lead vocalist and Rhythm Guitarist Starkey decided to leave the band leaving what used to be a 5-piece a few months ago now only a 3-piece.

But what the fuck, Pantera have coped well enough, Motorhead are rich enough so there must be something worth while in being a 3-piece. And this was proved well at Joseph's Well, May2nd Supporting Brody and EdMedisan. Only 4 days after Starkey had left and the guys blew the place away. Bev now singing with Slinn and Sam supporting the band found itself being tighter and deeper then ever before. Hopefully this will only get better as the path ahead looks very bright for the 3 guys.

And in true Mizkarrage style, this only lasted a few weeks until Rhythm Guitarist Starkey re-joined the band. Maybe this is the way its meant to be. Well certainly they guys did something right when on the 8th June at a little Pub in Castleford the guys played in front of the Hells Angels Biker gang, and went down a storm. With their first outdoor gig coming up June 22nd the band is moving to new levels, just as I said before when they were a 3-piece and before that when they were a 5-piece. But oh well, 3rd time lucky.
