It all starts in Midgar, a polluted, Slum filled city controlled by the evil, money grabbing, power hungry Corporation, Shinra, Inc.
Outside Midgar's sector 1 Mako reactor (Shinra converts the energy of things that died into Mako energy), a terrorist group called Avalanche leap off a train as it comes into the station ready to blast the reactor off the map! This time, though, they have a new recruit; Cloud Strife, a mercenary on hire.
The leader of the group, Barret Wallace, explains that when creatures and plants die, they turn into Lifeforce and get absorbed into the planet. And the Shinra are slowly killing the planet by sucking out the lifeforce in the form of Mako.
So the team of 5 rush in to help the planet live a little longer, but does the entire threat to the planet lie in Shinra's doings, or could it be something Stronger....
A heated battle begins- Squall Leonheart and Seifer Almasy commence training. Both armed with a Gunblade, they exchange hits normally, until Seifer beckons Squall with his hand, Squall comes rushing towards him before getting floored by a magical block from Seifer's free hand. While Squall is recovering from his last hit, Seifer goes in for the kill, making a big gash across Squall's forehead. The battle is over...
Squall wakes up in the infirmary of his training school, Balamb Garden. After the Doctor is finished with him, he makes his way over to his next class. Instructor Quistis Trepe calls Squall over after the lesson. Squall has to go to the Fire Cave for his test before the Field Exam. Squall is on the verge of becoming a member of SeeD, an army of Special Combat Forces that can be hired out, but concentrate on keeping peace between countries.
If Squall can make it into SeeD, he will make many friends and enemies, but most importantly, eventually be part of a struggle against evil that will change his life forever...
