-Zero Dragon Episode Summaries-
Welcome to the Episode Summaries page. I understand the fact that my fiction is really very long and sometimes, readers just can't keep up with the length so they end up quitting. The main purpose of this summary is to be able to narrate in the simplest possible way the main idea or plot of the episode. Be reminded, however, that not everything that happened in an episode can be summarized here (I'm not good at summaries). Some details can be dropped, but I always try to be understandable all the same. So here goes...
Episode 2 - Supreme Healer of Creed Capital
Because of the bandits, Dhor was partially demolished. Good thing Mignard was able to stop the fire before it was able to spread and destroy more establishments around the city.
The king orders the restoration of the city with the people’s help. Still threatened with the danger Zero's existence can bring, King Alexander orders Lineah to pursue the dragon child and bring him to the castle as soon as possible. Again, Lineah agrees, but insists on going alone after Kyle offers help.
Meanwhile, Zero arrives in a small town called ‘Afaria’, popularly known as the ‘creed capital’. The people living in this village are religious people (like priests, oracles, etc. Think of Vatican City in the real world).
Back in the castle, Lineah’s army is busy making preparations for the pursuit the following day. As he usually does, Mignard is looking at the city from his room balcony when he accidentally spots Lineah, who is surrounded by a circle of birds. Quite curious about the Lady Knight, he secretly follows her on her way to her chamber. He eavesdropped on Lineah and Mervina’s (another lady knight) conversation and learns that Lineah have decided that her brigade would be the only one to chase Zero, as dangerous as it seems. Mervina shows concern, but Lineah doesn’t care (it shows Lineah’s I’ll-do-it-myself-so-you-don’t-care attitude). Lineah enters her room and leaves Mervina behind. As Mervina leaves, Mignard tiptoes and peeps inside Lineah’s room. Inside, he sees Lineah in the darkness with her armor and helmet taken off – thus, revealing her face. But it is impossible to see her clearly for it is too dark. Lineah senses someone and instantly turns around, but Mignard acts quickly and dashes out of the chamber halls, thinking how foolish what he did was.
That same evening, Zero walks out of the inn where he stays. He cannot sleep because of the many things bothering him. Unexpectedly, he starts hearing mysterious voices echoing to his ears, “You are the dragon child, do not run” repeating and repeating. All of a sudden, the mark on his right palm starts to bleed; he is set to his knees screaming in pain. He hears the voices once again unendingly. The people circled around him thinking that he’s gone mad.
The crowd separates as the high priestess in white cloak rushes to Zero’s assistance. To stop the bleeding, the high priestess heals Zero – to his shock, using an artifact called the Sacred Dragon Ring containing healing powers. The bleeding stops, but Zero passes out. The high priestess orders her assistants to bring him to the large temple in the middle of the town (a tall church) called the Afaria Tower.
The following day, Zero finds himself inside a spacious room with many religious items in display. The high priestess enters the room and Zero reacts violently on her, asking her to give him the ring (her artifact) she possesses for it should be destroyed. Of course, High Priestess Yida refuses. Zero attempts to attack her, but is forced back by Yida’s power. Unexpectedly, Yida pulls the ring off her finger and voluntarily hands it to Zero telling him that it is all his. But Zero pauses to examine the consequences of destroying the ring: Yida is the high priestess – she is a healer, thus, taking the artifact from her will eventually stop her from helping people who needs healing. Realizing these, he returns the ring to Yida.
Lineah and her army begins the pursuit when she suddenly commands her troops to stop as they sense someone following them. There is indeed someone following them – Prince Mignard. Lineah says that he can’t join their mission but Mignard insists, saying that he wants to join them because he’s curious about Zero and he believes that he’s not 'demonic' like what people thinks he is. Lineah isn’t convinced and is about to say no again when suddenly Mignard senses a power of an artifact nearby. They all assume that it is Zero’s power. Slowly, the energy vanishes. Mignard concludes that the caretaker is not after them but is heading towards Afaria. Lineah orders her troops to head towards Afaria immediately. Mignard follows too.
But unknown to them, the energy Mignard sensed belongs to someone else.
In an unknown place (for now), a mysterious woman in black cloak is busy doing her card reading (she is someone like a fortune teller using cards). It turns out that the deck of cards she is using is a dragon artifact too (when she draws a card from her deck, it gives clues on what is happening around). She draws a card saying that her fellow ally named ‘Shin’ found Zero already: the woman whose dragon artifact is sensed by Mignard. There is another girl in the dark room, but only seen as a silhouette in an odd-looking mirror. The woman using the cards draws another one and says that there are people chasing Zero as well (pertaining to Mignard and Lineah). A third woman called ‘Mondragona’ appears (who happens to be the princess of the rival kingdom of Dhor and Arlmenington - Rourke (Rourke is the capital of Lystima while Arlmenington is the capital of Menides). Refer to the Map section for details), saying that she needs Zero and the Death Dragon Blade to fulfill her plans. Mondragona, for some reason, has a ruby core attached on her forehead called the Trance Dragon Core.
Back to Afaria, a priest rushes to Yida and Zero informing them about the incoming soldiers from Dhor. Since Afaria has never been attacked or surrounded by soldiers, bandits, or the rival continent – Lystima, the presence of the soldiers brings panic to the people. Zero knows that the soldiers are looking for him so he immediately runs down the tower to face them and surrender, as he wants no more trouble like what he caused recently in Dhor. When he is about to surrender, Yida stops him from doing so because she thinks that there is no justice in capturing someone without any acceptable reason at all. Lineah warns her that if Yida insists on defending Zero, she has no choice but to finish her. Yida isn’t affected with these words. She asks Lineah why she’s acting too cruel – is it because Yida wasn’t able to cure Lineah’s sick father therefore blaming her his death? Or is it because Lineah is simply acting like the puppet of the king? Lineah didn’t like the questions. She challenges Yida to a fight, and Yida has no reason to refuse. Mignard has no choice than to fight alongside with Lineah and Zero with Yida.
The two parties fight. However, when Mignard uses the power of the four-headed dragon on Yida and Zero, the high priestess casts a powerful sealing spell on the Elemental Dragon Pendant’s energy. The power of the four-headed dragon is at the moment sealed in a small pearl. Now, Mignard is unable to use his power. Lineah and Mignard eventually loses the fight. Mignard asks Yida on how he can break the seal but she shook her head – she doesn’t know. Zero answers instead, saying that the seal can only be broken by the Sacred Dragon’s counter force – the Sorcery Dragon.
An enemy suddenly strikes, paralyzing Zero with her dragon artifact – the Dragon Binding Whip, which has the power to stun the enemy. She is the woman called ‘Shin’ by the woman with the cards. Zero knows Shin, but unable to talk and move due to the spell. Lineah and Mignard have no choice than to team up with Yida. They fight Shin, but it is useless. Yida used several shield spells but ultimately drained all her energy, causing her to weaken. Mondragona and the lady with the cards called ‘Regalia’ appear. Regalia draws a card from her deck, Astral Dragon Cards (think of Clow Cards from CCS, but honestly when I came up with the idea of this artifact, I had no idea that CCS has the same thing too. I have never watched it.), and throws it to Mignard and the others, locking them inside an energy cube. Now, no one can rescue Zero. Thus, Mondragona and the others are now free to capture him. Mondragona asks the whereabouts of the Death Dragon Blade, but Zero remains silent (Mondragona has already removed the paralyzing spell on Zero). Because of this, Mondragona charges and fires energy to one of the houses, turning it to ash. Zero is enraged – then turning berserk again. Zero unleashes a powerful energy that even destroyed the energy wall enclosing Mignard, Lineah and Yida. Yida says that they must stop Zero, because the energy he unleashes is a sign of Vandal’s reawakening which can destroy the whole Gaia Sphere.
Suddenly, the voices once again echoed: “You are the Dragon Child – In you is the power of Vandal. Do not run away…Do not run…do not”. With this, two mysterious beings appear. Mignard comments that he has never seen anyone like them before. Yida agrees because the two beings aren’t human. They are dragons – Defense Dragon Zeon and Force Dragon Lexus (in human form, but dragon-winged). She explains that the two dragons have the responsibility to keep the Death Dragon, Vandal, from using its power to annihilate the world.
Zeon uses his power to tranquilize Zero, who again loses consciousness. To keep him away from the ongoing fight between the dragons and Mondragona’s party, Mignard rushes towards him and brings him to a safe place. The two parties fight, but Zeon and Lexus overpowers them. Zeon uses his energy to backfire Mondragona’s energy but Regalia makes a barrier to protect the three of them. Mondragona’s party eventually escapes.
The two dragons speak to Zero (he already woke up) and tells him that they can’t forever defend him. In order to lock Vandal permanently, they'll have to return all the dragon artifacts back to the defense circle, which was said to be located south of Menides and can only be reached through the Flight Dragon (whose caretaker they still have to find). He also learns about the Trance Dragon Core, an artifact that is 'attached' on Mondragona's forehead. The dragons tell him that Mondragona was after the Death Dragon Blade because it was the only thing that can detach the dragon artifact from her body. They tell Zero that destroying the artifacts isn’t after all the solution to the problem. Destroying the artifact could make the caretaker lose control of it, which can deal more dilemmas. Zeon and Lexus leaves, handing over an Artifact Cube to Zero. The Artifact Cube can more accurately detect nearby artifacts to avoid misconceptions (such as what happened to Mignard and Lineah, thinking Shin was Zero.) Zero vows to find the artifacts and heads to leave, but Yida calls him back and tells him that she decided to join him in his journey. Mignard does the same thing. However, Lineah doesn’t. Instead, she tells Zero that she will consider him to have escaped but promises to capture him when they meet again. With this, she leaves. Mignard and Zero spends the night in Afaria Tower and leave for La Flance the next morning to retrieve the Blaze Dragon Dagger from Glaive.
