-Zero Dragon Episode Summaries-

Welcome to the Episode Summaries page. I understand the fact that my fiction is really very long and sometimes, readers just can't keep up with the length so they end up quitting. The main purpose of this summary is to be able to narrate in the simplest possible way the main idea or plot of the episode. Be reminded, however, that not everything that happened in an episode can be summarized here (I'm not good at summaries). Some details can be dropped, but I always try to be understandable all the same. So here goes...

Episode 3 - Dark Sorceress of Carinde

In his sleep, Mignard dreams of a mysterious beautiful lady. The lady says something about meeting with Mignard soon, then leaves. Mignard chases her, telling her not to leave but she still does. He wakes up from the dream asking himself who the lady was. The dream is very strange, and he says that he is repeatedly having the same dream lately. Yida arrives on his room and tells him that they’re bound to leave early so he should prepare now. After the preparations, Zero’s party leaves heading west.

Back in the Dhor castle, Lineah reports to King Alexander that Zero was able to escape. King Alexander is enraged and becomes even angrier when she tells him that the young prince is with Zero. King Alexander threatens Lineah that if something happens to Mignard, he will have her executed. Lineah doesn’t react, but Mervina speaks up to defend her. The king isn’t convinced until Queen Marguerite tells him that Mignard must have his own reasons for joining Zero.

In their way to La Flance, they pass through the town, Carinde. Dhor soldiers blocked their way, as Carinde is fully secured due to the “dragon child’s” attack there several days ago (remember the story the drunken men in the Dhor tavern were talking about). The soldiers recognizes Prince Mignard and High Priestess Yida, so they eventually let them in. But they blocks Zero’s way and asked him who he is. When Prince Mignard and Yida are about to make an alibi, a group of children rushed towards Zero with smiling faces, saying that Zero was the young man that saved them from the dragon child several days ago. Prince Mignard and Yida exchanged looks – both confused. Seeing Zero harmless, the soldiers let him in.

When the children left, Mignard asks Zero what happened when he “saved” the children when it was supposed to be him that attacked them. Zero gives them a puzzled look, telling them he doesn’t have a reason to do such thing. Eventually, the townsmen welcome Zero with thankful faces. One of them is the mayor of the town, Mayor Magou. Mignard is introduced to the mayor by Yida and asks his permission for their party to be able to use the west gate on their way to La Flance. The mayor is intrigued with their plan and is willing to hear more. He then invites the party to his home.

While having dinner in Mayor Magou’s house, Mignard spots a young lady peeping to their direction from the staircase. On the other hand, Zero is busy telling the mayor of their plan to retrieve all the dragon artifacts for them to be able to return the artifacts to the defense circle. Yida asks the mayor whether he knows a place or a person who has one of these artifacts; however for some reason, the mayor doesn’t reply and eventually changes the topic. Oddly, a young lady comes in from the front door and Mignard recognizes that she is the same lady that has been peeping lately (he wonders how she could have gotten down there when she is supposed to be upstairs... some passage maybe, maybe not). Mayor Magou introduces Prince Mignard to the young lady, who happens to be his daughter – Myriad. The prince greets her in an, of course, princely manner. Myriad seems to be attracted to him (who wouldn’t be?) and blushes. For some reason, however, the Artifact Cube is glowing.

The mayor asks the party to stay for the night. However, Mignard is awakened by the same dream about the beautiful lady. Unable to go back to sleep, he goes to the small window on the room and looks at the town from above where he spots Myriad alone below.

He goes to her and asks her what she is doing down there in the middle of the night. Myriad answers that she had a dream and now she can’t sleep. Realizing that they have the same reason, Mignard wonders what her dream is about. Myriad dreamt about her mother and tells Mignard how much she wishes that she is still there. Earlier, Mayor Magou told them that Myriad’s mother went through a terrible end – Myriad’s mother was burned in the stake for a reason Mignard and the others still doesn’t know. Myriad tells Mignard how lucky he is to have a complete family and asks Mignard how it is to be a prince. Mignard answers that it was difficult, considering that people expect so much from him. The conversation ends with Myriad’s message to him, telling him that when the time comes that Mignard would be king, he should remember to be a good one for she doesn’t like her mother’s fate happen to anyone else. Mignard doesn’t know why she is saying this, but he assures her that he would be one.

The next morning, Zero’s party says their farewells to Mayor Magou and Myriad. However, when they are about to leave, a soldier comes rushing towards the mayor saying that they must flee immediately to safety for Lystiman Soldiers are on their way to invade Carinde. The soldier also reports that La Flance is already invaded. The people starts to panic as they run to find a safe place. Unfortunately, they are too late – the Lystiman Soldiers have now surrounded Carinde. There is no escape.

On the other hand, Lineah, Mervina, and their brigade are on their way to Carinde when they spot the soldiers. They learn that Carinde is being invaded and they need to help. King Alexander learns about the invaders from a messenger too and sends Kyle and James’ brigade (also a knight of Dhor) to help Carinde.

Lineah and Mervina arrives in Carinde ready to embark to battle. Zero immediately asks Mayor Magou if there is any place safe around Carinde where the villagers can go. The mayor, then, asks everyone to follow Myriad. She leads everyone towards their house. Each one of them enters, and surprisingly all of them are able to fit, as impossible as it may sound. Shortly, Kyle and James' group arrived to help as well.

The two opposing forces wage for war. Zero and Yida opt to help Lineah and the soldiers fight the Lystiman soldiers. The invading force happens to be led by the Head Knight of Rourke named Rennus. He insults Lineah of being a feeble knight and a disgrace to the army. Of course, Lineah is enraged. He and Lineah fights, in which Lineah shows her exceptional fighting skills much to Rennus' and the party's surprise. However, this does not stand long when Rennus uses his dragon artifact, the Wind Dragon Orb, and amazingly turned into a dragon just like Zeon and Lexus. Seeing his dragon form, Zero recognizes Rennus as the one who attacked Carinde before - the one he fought with. The people merely mistaken Rennus for the dragon child.

With his extreme strength, Rennus is able to beat them one by one. They learn from Rennus that La Flance has been invaded indeed. They also learn that Glaive, the bandit captain, is only being used by Rourke. Above this, Rennus admits that he is the one behind the death of Myriad's mother. Myriad, out of nowhere, grabs the scene and unleashes a powerful energy. She is holding the Sorcery Dragon Staff on her hand as she sets out a powerful surge of energy that even reversed Rennus' aura, turning him back to his human form. Alongside with this, the same aura is able to break the seal of Mignard's dragon artifact (in Episode 2, the power of the Elemental Dragon Pendant was sealed by Yida). That explains why the Artifact Cube is glowing from the time they arrived in Carinde - Myriad is a caretaker too. Regalia appears just in time to take Rennus away from the battle field. The Lystiman soldiers retreat, while Myriad falls to unconsciousness after losing too much energy.

The story switches from a third person POV to Myriad's narration. She tells the story of her mother, Ermentine Illione, who happens to be a black sorceress (someone who has the power of black sorcery - a kind of magic wherein the sorcerer can create ferocious beasts). Because of this ability, the king of Rourke became interested of Ermentine's power but she refuses to be affiliates with anyone from Rourke. After Rennus threatened Ermentine that her family will be slain if she tries to refuse, Ermentine was forced to follow and gets killed by being burned in the stake. She left the Sorcery Dragon Staff with her daughter, Myriad. Myriad loathed her sorcery powers for she believed that it was the reason why her mom has to go through such a terrible fate. But soon, she realizes that it would make her mother happy if she uses her powers for good cause. With this, she joins Zero's party.

But it doesn't end here. La Flance has been invaded. To resolve this problem is a duty of the army. Because of this, Lineah decided to join the party 'temporarily'. The party heads for La Flance - to 'liberate' the bandits and retrieve the Blaze Dragon Dagger from Glaive.
