My picture along with the son that is studying satellite mapping at Northwest Missouri State. He sends me new weather sights and I forward them on to the list.

I've never formally studied weather, but I love watching the weather. I usually have TWC on all night and when I can get the TV to myself. My father and I used to watch lightening during the storms, and now this son and I do. He is picking up my love of weather and would like to be a storm chaser.

We have seen tornadoes in Florida that went out over the water and turned into water spouts, plus we had funnel clouds just across the street during last spring. That was close for comfort!! I have the florida pictures on video, my husband said he might figure out how to transfer to the computer. I won't hold my breath!!

We have two very large Iguanas, cats and a huge Oscar fish, that eats anything.

Bobbi Schwartz : South Florida

Growing up in Miami I have always had an interst in hurricanes. I studied a small amout of meteorolgy in college and I find it an interesting hobby to follow. I enjoy a good rainstorm, watching a front move through in the winter or tracking a storm on its path through the tropics during the Hurricane Season. Its fun to track these storms and share weather info with friends online.

Ken Fisher : Bonita Beach, Florida

Occupation: Hardwood Flooring Contractor
DOB: 2/18/57
Nestled between Naples and Ft.Myers on the Gulf Coast of Florida). Interested in Hurricane tracking for the simple use of survival as I live so close to the beach and in a hurricane zone, although no major hurricane has hit this area since '61(Donna).
I would have to say my most memorable event was October, 1995 when I was contracted to do a remodel of an old fishing encampment in the Key West Historical area. Three weeks and four hurricanes(so many we began naming those six toed "Hemingway cats" that hung out around us after the canes) later I made it back home. All of us were constantly monitering the four hurricanes at the time. I believe it was Roxanne that had us concerned the most, as she spun in circles off the Yucatan. Being in KW, you know, there aren't may evacuation routes.

A Little Bit About Ani: Married with Children (twin daughters, a son-in-law, and a "grand-dog" Sammi).
I love tracking hurricanes, beach exploring (i.e., being a beach bum LOL), and generally anything related to weather phenomenon. I have a special fondness for the Gulf of Mexico from the shores of Pensacola Beach, Florida to Ft. Morgan, Alabama... "my little piece of heaven."

Sue : Charleston South Carolina

Yes it was Hugo that gave me my major interest in tracking, although I was tracking long before he hit... family says I called it in (NOT) well, then they call me the weather witch too, because a simple thunderstorm can put me over the edge... I enjoy tracking online alot. Its much more fun sharing than having everyone calling me up and saying...well whats it doing now?

Alex Nitzman:Mobile, AL, native of Newark, DE

I have been a follower of hurricanes since 1984. When I was 10 years old, I lived on Skidaway Island, Georgia which is about 10 miles southeast of Savannah and about 5 miles from the Atlantic. I remember watching television, and hearing all the reports about Diana's path and whereabouts. Schools and businesses were closed as Diana moved up the coastline. I remember heading down to the marina to see if the tides were up, and sure enough they were up 3 feet! Everyone was scared, and especially so, since we were surrounded by water and lowlands. I, however, was very excited. But as we know, Hurricane Diana moved to the north and made landfall around Wilmington, NC. I still wonder why that one wasn't retired, and as a side note: I spoke with John Hope about it once, and he agreed with me!! Anyway, since than I have been hooked on hurricanes and weather. I was in Savannah when Hurricane Bob went by in 1985, went through Hurricane Gloria in Delaware also in 1985, Tropical Storm Chris (GA) in 1988, and Tropical Storm Danielle (DE) 1992. I just missed Tropical Storm Alberto in 1994 in Pensacola and last year I was in Mobile for Hurricane Earl. That's my hurricane resume. In 1992, I got a camcorder for graduation and have been stormchasing ever since. I am most passionate about lightning, but am excited about any type of severe weather. I am majoring in meteorology right now and hope to get some type of job with that or Geographic Information Systems.

Larry Ingersoll : Gloucester, Mass.

The home of the bestseller "The Perfect Storm" is located about 30 miles NE of Boston. We are also called Cape Ann (The other Cape) and jut out into the Atlantic Ocean which gives us some odd weather patterns sometimes. I have always been a 'fan' or storms, though not a student of weather. I have been working for the past 18 years or so as a police officer working the midnight shift in my city. I enjoy casinos, yard work & gardening, golf and NFL Fantasy Football.

I was concieved during the Columbus Day storm of 1962. One of the worst storms to ever hit the Pacific Northwest. I should have know this would start a downward spiral. By the time I was five years old I had been through two Typhoons and had been evacuated from a burning airliner. (long story) At 15 I experienced my first earthquake (at that point it was the #2 quake to hit San Francisco behind the 1906 quake, it has since been downgraded to the number 3 quake). And at 16 I saw my first Volcano eruption. I was on a City Bus at 5pm in Portland Oregon. Hasn't everyone had that experience? Things quieted down for a couple years until I went to the FAA Academy in Oklahoma City, where I was in school to be an Air Traffic Controller. While there I experienced my first real Tornado, it was dark and I didn't see it, but they tell me it was there. Then my next experience came on August 23, 1992, when Hurricane Andrew hit Miami, where I just happened to be living. It was just a few weeks before my wedding and I put my invitations in the dryer because I figured they would stay drier there. And then I was robbed at the wedding. (but that is another LONG story, that includes a flat tire and a replacement bridesmaid) Then I moved to Mississippi. Just in time for Hurricane Georges. We(Tim, 2 dogs, the cat and me)spent way to many hours in the hallway with screaming 100 mph+ winds.Only to discover we still had a roof when we were done (minus a few shingles). I am a Mary Kay consultant (between disasters). I guess it's a good thing I have my inventory insured! NOW...How many of y'all want to come live near me?

I've always loved storms, especially thunderstorms with lots of lightning. I went through hurricane Hugo, and that turned me on to the fact that hurricanes aren't limited to the coast, and got me intensely interested in them. My hobbies are hurricane tracking, lightning photography, and ultralights. That way, no matter what the weather is doing, I have something to do!
