2000 Highlights:
His fifth professional season was a solid one at Memphis (AAA). Batted .273 with 89 runs scored and 52 RBIs in 129 games, but his home run total dipped from 14 in 1999 to just one in 2000...helped lead the Redbirds into the Pacific Coast League Playoffs, where he batted .289 (11-for-38) in nine games...his three homers in the playoffs led the club, while his 11 RBIs were second to Luis Garcia's 12...injured his knee in the PCL playoffs and was limited to just two games in the Triple-A World Series against Indianapolis; went hitless in four at-bats...ranked fifth in the PCL with 80 walks...his two-out RBI single was the winning tally in the 10th inning of a 2-1 win over Edmonton on 5/9...batted .431 (22-for-51) in 14 games from 6/2 to 6/19...went 4-for-4 with four runs scored in the Redbirds' 18-1 win at Nashville on 7/30.

Personal:
Graduated in 1992 from Riverside Secondary School in Windsor, Ontario...played two years at Paris (Texas) Junior College, where he was selected conference MVP in 1993 and 1994 and was an Academic All-American in '94...went on to attend Texas Tech University and received All-Southwest Conference accolades...majored in sports medicine...was a member of Team Canada which won the World Youth Championship in 1991...enjoys hiking and weight training...was scouted and signed by Hal Smith...full name is Richard Keith Clapp, but he is a third-generation "Stubby," as both his father and grandfather went by that designation...resides in Windsor, Ontario.
