Care whilst Abroad

  • If you become unwell with diarrhoea and/or vomiting it is important not to become dehydrated. You can buy sachets of an oral re-hydration powder mix; these may be available from the local chemist.

  • If you are unsure about the cleanliness of the water supply, you may want to take water sterilisation tablets with you. If you drink bottled water, make sure the top is sealed.

  • Ensure that all food is cooked thoroughly, especially meats. Wash salads, vegetables and fruit thoroughly before eating.

  • Keep taking your routine daily medication as prescribed by your doctor.

  • Remember to climatise slowly.
