for Power Rangers on ABC Kids. (PRRPM is only on ABC Kids in its final season) Ratings derived from Cynopsis: Kids! Kids 6-11 is the only age demographic available on a consistent basis.
DEFINITIONS
ABC KIDS
(Updated: 1/4/10) No further ratings update for the finale, so this is it. I think I'll just let the lines end where they are instead of stretching them out to the end of the charts. I'll probably add a page to track MMv2 ratings but the charts won't have lines that go all the way back to SPD. If each line is going to be lower than the one before, it gets kinda depressing. It might just be JF, RPM and MMv2. That fluke of a start to the OO line makes me use a wider range for the Y axis (check your algebra notes) and that limits the detail that can be shown in the movement of the other lines. I don't think it'll ever again be appropriate to compare a PR season's ratings to the numbers gained by SPD, MF, or anything from the Fox Kids era. PR's halcyon days are in its past.
Except for RPM (where I've split the differences in empty weeks), a long straight line usually means a stretch of pre-emptions or unreported ratings. (SPD 30-42 is eight football pre-empts and four weeks where the ratings were such that the 0.95 average didn't change) Week 22 is omitted from the chart since there was no report that week for PRMF and was/is a pre-emption for SPD and PROO. Also, since it took ABC a total of 54 weeks to show all of SPD and PROO, some of the unreported weeks at the end of the run were omitted in order to fit into the site's limit of 50 spaces. The second chart shows the week-by-week ratings of the four programs. With the start of PRRPM, we begin with just the first-half chart. With the addition of a FIFTH color (red for RPM), the week-by-week chart changes to the new presentation where only the current season gets the tracking line from dot to dot. The previous seasons will only have the dots. It will help you see show the current season is doing.
(Updated: 9/16/09) Where's the love for RPM? I don't think it's that .. but clearly Disney/ABC can't be bothered to put it in a place where people can see it or to promote it even a hair. The red line of this new-episode chart goes two lines longer, with the math being done for the 12:00 new episode, and then again for the 12:30. (This chart won't be updated until December) The share was the last hope for the red line to finish above the green. Well, not only is that not going to happen now, the red line has now ventured into a place that hasn't been broached since Week 6 of SPD -- an average share below 3.00. But that purple line skyrocketed after that point. There's no such juice left for RPM.
(3/16/09 note:) As usual, I'm leaving the cable numbers up as a point of reference, since RPM is broadcast-only. Of course, if Disney decides to change its mind, I'll revive a cable chart for whatever numbers are available.
