The Seventh Fleet
USS Iliad is part of the Seventh Fleet which is based at Starbase 32 in the Tarsan System. The Fleet has served Starfleet since inauguration in 2361. For further information on this system or starbase follow the links.
The Admiral in charge of the Seventh Fleet is Admiral Juanita Suarez who is based at Starbase 32. The Seventh Fleet consists of (amongst others) the USS Iliad, USS Lexington, USS Crazy Horse, USS Hathaway, USS Roosevelt, USS Carrington, USS Storm and USS Alexandra. The Flag Ship of the Seventh Fleet is the USS Victoria.
The Seventh fleet has been called into battle on a number of occasions. Details of three of those battles are as follows:-
1. Battle of Wolf 359
Despite the fact that the battle took place light years away from the Tarsan system, it was a case of all hands to the pump as the Borg threatened sector 0-0-1 - the Terran system. The only ships available from the Seventh Fleet at that time were USS Tolstoy, USS Princeton and USS Gage, all were lost along with all 1,354 crew involved.
2. Relief of Station Deep Space 9
More close to home this time, the majority of the Seventh Fleet's active ships were involved in the mission to relieve Deep Space 9 from Cardassian and Dominion occupation. This mission was a success although did result in the destruction of USS Achilles with the death of 224 crewmembers of the complement of 352.
3. Battle of Sentris III
A relatively little known battle, unremarkable for any reason other than it was the first battle officially recognised as having involved a Seventh Fleet vessel, USS Tolstoy becoming involved along with two other Federation ships in a skirmish with seven Ferengi Marauders.
