JOAN COLLINS
"City on The Edge of Forever"
Joan Collins appears
first not because she is the most recognizable name on this list.
She rates first for the same reasons that she is the most recognizable
name on the list. Miss Collins
radiates with presence and when she appears on the basement stairs as Edith
Keeler to discover Captain Kirk and Spock hiding out, the episode takes on a
glorious new meaning. When we find
out that she is the center of the force that has drawn them to that point in
time, the plot thickens like her thick raven hair.
We are drawn to her like some irresistible Goddess of love.
This great an overpowering presence she has was used most brilliantly
later on an episode of the night time soap, "Dynasty", where she burst
on the scene as a surprise witness in a murder trial.
She became a regular and put the itch in bitch making "Dynasty"
one of the most talked about television series ever, and reviving her career in
the process. She has a storied
reputation as a supreme Diva and we bow to her greater glory here.
In her "Star Trek" episode, we believe Edith Keeler will one
day be a great woman because of a very delicate and detailed performance by Miss
Collins and her great presence. When
Edith Keeler does die, it is one of the saddest moments in the history of
"Star Trek." Long live
the beautifully ageless Goddess who made "The City on the Edge of
Forever" one of the best episodes ever made.
