"Where No Man Has Gone Before"

Miss Kellerman is not given a lot to do in "Where No Man Has Gone", but when she is on screen, she owns the set.    She was the original Hot lips Houlihan in the 1970 film that became an instant classic, "M*A*S*H". One of the real exotic beauties of Hollywood, Sally Kellerman made a career out of stamping roles with her unique style, a truly brilliant actress. She is Dr. Elizabeth Dehner in this episode and becomes romantically involved with a crewman played by Gary Lockwood.  In a really hammy performance that was perfectly suited for the role, Lockwood goes mad with his new found telekinetic power.   Miss Kellerman matches his performance step for step.  He wants to rule the galaxy with Dr. Dehner by his side.  She must choose him over the right thing to do.  She gives her life for the cause in a really campy and terrific finale.  It is cinema verite.  It is classic in every way.  She is classic in so many ways.  I believe she is a fan of jazz.  Catch Sally Kellerman in two great performances on the original "The Outer Limits";  "The Bellero Shield" and "The Human Factor".  Her early performances can only be described as delicious.
