Book(s) of the Month

Book of the Month: April 2001
The Book of the Month is Irish Tales of the Fairies and the Ghost World(2000) by Jeremiah Curtin.
Curtin has put together a small collection (30) of tales of the fae and encounters with them from true believers living in Ireland. Not the best writing but an interesting read for those interested in Celtic lore.

The Book of the Month is Good Faeries, Bad Faeries(1983) by Brian Froud. Why?? Because this is one of the most beautiful books I have ever seen or read ... The pages are filled with beautiful pictures and drawings of the fay and their descriptions . Brian Froud is any faerie lover's favorite artist and in his new book he describes first "good faeries" such as the Laume, hobs, gnomes, and "the Oak Men", and "bad faeries" like the Leanan Sidhe, Morgana Le Fey, Death , and bogles.

Also, Good Faeries, Bad Faeries is a very good source of faerie history, names, and characteristics. I recommend this book to anyone who believes in and loves the Faerie world ........
