Tsukino Usagi and Chiba Mamoru

When Usagi first met Mamrou, they did not get along and disliked each other. Of course, they did not know about their love on the Moon Kingdom for when they were reincarnated on Earth, they had their memories erased (along with the other people of the Moon Kingdom). When Sailor Moon was born from Usagi, Tuxedo Mask, Usagi's disguised alter-ego that defended Sailor Moon, fought beside her and the other Sailor Soldiers. However, they split apart in their alliance a bit when the search for the Rainbow Crystals had begun. Because, Tuxedo Mask wanted to be the first to get all the crystals so he could creat the Silver Crystal. He wanted to do this because he kept having visions of a Princess telling him to get the Silver Crystal. After the crystal was create, Queen Beryl captured Mamoru because she discovered that he was also Prince Endymion from the Silver Millenium, whom she was in love with. She brainwashed him so he could become her King and rule beside her. Sailor Moon eventually healed him, but Queen Beryl took him back into the Dark Kingdom again for brainwashing. When the Sailor Soldiers teleported to the Dark Kingdom and fought against Queen Beryl, Sailor Moon tried to heal him again, but her healing was not strong enough. After Prince Endymion had beaten and defeated Sailor Moon, she was still able to heal him once and for all using the Star Locket, a gift Prince Endymion had given the Princess during the Silver Millenium (Click here to download a clip of Prince Endymion attacking Saior Moon).
In Sailor Moon R, after the Battle against Queen Beryl, Mamoru and the Sailor Soldiers lost their memories of their past and did not know each other. Luna brought back all their memories except Mamoru's memory. So Mamoru still did not remember Usagi and their destined love. Thus The Moonlight Knight was born from Mamoru. The Moonlight Knight was the strong will of Mamoru that still remembered and loved Sailor Moon. Eventually, he received his memory back and the Moonlight Knight returned to his body.
In Sailor Moon Sailor Stars, there were two events that dramatically changed Usagi and Mamoru's relationsip. When Nehelenia returned for her revenge, she brain-washed Mamoru. Mamoru would ignore Usagi sometimes or would be rude and mean to her for no reason. The Soldiers then discover that Nehelenia has taken control of him. Nehelenia takes him inside a mirror into her world, and says that if Sailor Moon cannot reach him by the next dawn, his mind will be completely lost and he will belong to her. At this time, Chibi-Usa/Sailor Chibi-Moon begins to slowly disappear because her father in the future is gone. Thus Sailor Moon goes into Nehelenia's world trying to find and saved Mamoru. The other Soldiers go in after Sailor Moon, but they are seperated from each other and are put into mirrors themselves. Eventually, Usagi walks bare-foot through a blizzard and crawls through a field of thorns to finally reach Mamoru. Sailor Chibi-Moon is already there with Mamoru, but she fades away slowly in Usagi's arms. She later heals Nehelenia and everyone is saved and returns to Earth.
In the second part of Sailor Stars, Mamoru wants to go to the United States to study there. If he does, he will not return to Japan for one year. Usagi is very sad, but she does not ask him to stay because she knows that this is a big oppurtinity for him. They say good-bye at the airport and Mamoru departs. On his way to the United States, his plane is engulfed in a giant gold light and disappears. After that, Usagi keeps writing letters to him in the United States, but he never replies. In the meantime, Seiya becomes friends with Usagi and it seems like her is attracted to her. Usagi at first thinks he is rude and arrogant, but the two become great friends. After the Sailor Starlights and Inner Soldiers' identities are reveald, the two groups are no longer friends. But Usagi and Seiya still seem to care for each other. At the end of the season we find out that Tuxedo Mask was really killed by Sailor Galaxia. Galaxia shows Sailor Moon his starseed which she has taken from him, and Sailor Moon now knows why he has not been answering her letters... he was dead the whole time and she didn't even know. Once Chaos is defeated in the final battle, Mamoru comes back to life. | |
