Welcome! to the Soulful Shore, a memorial dedicated to all precious children who have died.
These names have been written in the sand at Coogee Beach in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. It's a great surfy beach; lots of boogie boards, beach babes soaking up the rays and toddlers on the shore. I know my kids would have loved morning swims in the rock pools. I wanted to do something in their memory so I started writing their names in the sand. Then I started taking photographs. Then I started writing and taking photographs of the names of my friends' babies. Now it has become my way of hanging on the beach. It feels right.
This memorial page is very special to me. I am happy to honor the lives of our children. Thank you to these parents, whose companionship with me has been indispensible. I feel such solidarity with you, we have been to hell and back. And we are surviving.
