Heather's Poems

Heather and I met at Honored Babies.
Heather wrote these poems in memory of her son, Gage.

Help Me Grieve

He may have never taken a breath
I may have never heard his sweet little voice
we may have never seen his beautiful smile
but he is still my little boy.

Please don't pretend not to know him
don't act as though he was never alive
for he lived inside my body, and lives forever in my heart
please don't forget my son has died.

Never tell me: "It's for the best."
how dare you say: "Well, you CAN have more."
If you want to act this way
come here, I'll show you the door.

Please just hold me when I cry
listen and understand when I scream and vent
don't act uncomfortable and turn away
Tell me you know, my son was Heaven sent.

When I'm sad and need a shoulder
offer it unconditionally
And even if you can't understand
Just by being there, you help me grieve.

Great expectations
Are all I had for you. Yet
God chose to take you home, now you have
Eternity. You will

Always be in my heart, I will
Like you forever, and love you for always.
Everytime I think of you, I'll try to smile. I wish I had
X-tra time with you. But I'll cherish the time I had
And you will never leave my prayers.
Never in a million years would I be able to forget you. My
Dear beautiful baby boy. I can't wait to hold you for
Eternity. Sleep with God now my Angel.
Right now, yesterday, tomorrow, and forever, your Mommy loves you.
