June 21st

We didn't take many pictures during our nature walk around Medical Lake on the 21st of June--in fact, these are pictures of wild flowers that bloomed several weeks ago, but these pictures show their progress.

Up to this point, June 21st, we have not seen any Mallard ducklings. This afternoon we spotted a mother and at least one, maybe two babies. We observed that unlike the Geese,  where the male remains with the family, the male Mallard duck apparently departs, leaving the female to rear her ducklings alone.
