The Forth Day

Genesis 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

Question - why do some stars and stellar objects appear to be red-shifted, showing that they are moving away from us at a very great speed?

Answer- Jer 51:15" ...and hath stretched out the heaven"
also see
Isa 42:5 "Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out ..."

Isa 45:12 God talking, "I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host..."

The words "stretched out" are used for the Hebrew word, naw-taw', which means to extend outward at great speed. "To throw outward."

The word "host" is used for the Hebrew word, tseb-aw-aw', which means- "a mass of objects."

Genesis 1:15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

Then God spoke the sun, the moon, and the stars into existence.

Genesis 1:16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

......

Genesis 1:17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

Genesis 1:18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

Genesis 1:19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

A note about stars...
God knows that there are trillions and trillions of stars in the universe, even though we can only see a few thousand with the unaided eye.
Genesis 22:17 "...the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore..."
Psalms 147:4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.
