THE WEST WINDOW At
the top of the window is seen the hand of God, the symbol of the Father.
Below that is seen the Dove, the symbol of the Holy Spirit. In the centre
is the transfigured Lord Jesus Christ. On either side are the figures of
Moses and Elijah, with angels above them. The prostrate and kneeling
figures are the disciples; Peter, James and John. This
window and the plaque with it came to this Church in 1927. At that time All
Saints Church at Kingston-on-Thames, London, England was converting one of
the chapels into a memorial chapel, to the memory of the fallen service men and
women of World War I, and wished to replace this window with a memorial
window. The Transfiguration Window was offered to the
Primate of Canada to be placed in an All Saints Church in Canada. The
Primate selected Weyburn. It
is considered to be a window of great beauty and value. Stained glass
experts have stated that the blue colours are exceptionally good and are thought
to be from a formula long since lost.
