THE PASSING OF A LEGEND...

#19 - Tyler Hill

There have been many who have dawned the Jawz jersey over the years, but none as crucial as the teams founder and GM. Tyler Hill has been the captain of the team since 2000 where it was passed down by the late great Jesse Barabas. Tyler is one of 2 players to grow up in the Flyers zone. A zone where hockey doesn't always come natural to the residents. This was not the case with Hill, he flourished onto the seen leading all league scorers in pre-novice (MITES, SNOWFLAKES). This is also where he began playing with the All-Time Jawz goalie Rob Hillier. As his career went on he progressed from season to season, but nothing would prepare him for the TRADE! This is where he and Rob were dealt to the last place BOBCATS. The BOBCATS are sunnonimous with losing, and a winner like Hill would have to play with losers in that Zone. His career took a little set back playing with less talent here but, along side with Star tender Rob Hillier they produced moderate seasons. Soon afterwards Tyler was looking to end his career at an early age, but then he was approached by a gentleman (Landon King) who wanted to start a team in the new found ASHL. He accepted the offer and co-founded the expansion team the JAWZ. His first order at that time was to sign free-agent allstar Jesse Barabas, and after a little wagering he did just that. As a player he got the experience to play with Barabas. It is here where he learned to fully develop his skills. With the guidance of BOOM-BOOM, Tyler emerged into a playmaker as well as a scorer. Now we arrive in 2004 where Tyler has laced his skates for the very last time. He has also sold his 1/2 of the shares in the team to Co-Owner Landon King. Tyler officially retired on July 4, 2004 after the dissapointing loss to the Lumberjacks during the provincial final. He has since moved to his resort home in a piece of paradise known as Melfort. He is still in contact with the team but not seeing #19 on the ice brings much sadness to JAWZ fans. Mr.Hill I hope you have a wonderful retirement and the team will always have a spot for you!
