Large compilations of levels
The Nibbler Editor is great for making single levels. But do you
want to have a million 1,000-byte files cluttering up your desktop?
Probably not.
"NGROUP.EXE" serves two functions: packing and unpacking. This tool
is a small compiler that makes use of a special markup language. This
markup language, with a style similar to HTML, provides a quick way
to assemble simple .NIB files into .NGR files. A text file contains
the specs of the filenames, titles, and comments associated with each
level. Master title, author, score ranking basis, and description
information are also specs in the text file.
I suggest you use the template given in E1.TXT
to learn more about how spec files are constructed. To learn how
to use the tool, type "NGROUP ?" on the command line.
