The Davis-Flores Con Game

by James J Keene PhD

Editor's Note: This report is my New Year's gift to my kidnapped children.

Willingboro, NJ - Jan 6, 2005 Victims and aspiring con artists might turn to the best to understand or master the art of the con game. When it comes to child kidnapping and abuse, the Davis-Flores gang provides a role model at the top of their game.

What can be learned from these proven masters at avoiding arrest and prosecution? Let's look at the methods and deceits of the Davis-Flores crew, which help them continue their anti-family program, based on a series of crimes, from which they seem to be immune.

A prime con game goal is to make people stop asking questions and go away happy. Welcome to the cover stories of Dr. Nilda (Keene?) Davis-Flores:

Tell People This Is Just "A Family Dispute"

Con: Generally others think they should not "get involved" in "family disputes". Thus, the family dispute con is ideal when kidnappers wish to integrate themselves into a new community and people might raise questions about the apparently non-existent father (me, the author). People usually back off with a simple, "Oh, it's a family dispute".

Fact: There is no family dispute in this case, least of all between me and any of the Davis-Flores crew. None whatsoever. If any dispute exists, it is between the kidnappers and right/wrong, morality and spiritual and secular law.

Tell People a Federal Court in PR Has Exonerated Her

Con: People think there is no wrong done in this case and in their minds, the whole situation becomes "case closed". A Federal Court of Puerto Rico (PR) ruling. That sounds very official.

Dr. Nilda -- we don't know what last name she uses now -- reportedly provided a copy of this Federal Court ruling to the U.S. National Baha'i Center, as "proof" that she was exonerated. Since the case was dismissed, it certainly might appear on the surface that a Federal Court exonerated her.

Fact: This con, of course, is a total falsehood, as Keene Kids News Chronologies, Oct. 31, 1996, which quotes the Federal Court ruling, clearly show. The Court was ruling only on a "pick-up order" issue and in fact, accepted and quoted each and every one of my statements about the kidnapping!

The dismissal was not an exoneration regarding any crime nor was it a criminal proceeding. Rather it was a judgement by the Court that certain technicalities of international treaties and U.S. Federal law prevented the Court from honoring a foreign court order. But who is going to read it in order to realize that? Take a guess.

If this Court ruling is considered to speak to the crime of kidnapping, it accepted all the evidence I presented about the specific instance. This is exactly the opposite of what Dr. Nilda has claimed.

Lesson: The con artist must have a certain boldness, a willingness to look a person in the eyes and say "Night is Day" and "No is Yes" with a straight face.

Meanwhile, other serial kidnappings in the U.S. involving many Davis-Flores people, are also fact. Perjury by Dr. Nilda is fact and no doubt obstruction of justice as well since the perjury was committed in another court case. Not to mention severe child abuse including cutting child off from father and the Keene family.

Tell People a Court in PR Granted Child Custody to Her

Con: When people hear that a court in Guayama, PR, has granted her custody of the children, it's pretty much "point, set, match". The kidnappers are home free. Who is going to worry about that?

Fact: Indeed, in 1998, three years after the initial episode of serial kidnapping by "Ma Nilda's" gang, a kangaroo court in Guayama, PR, officially approved of this crime spree by granting custody, denying my constitutional rights to even present evidence. A combination of demonstrable perjury in sworn statements, falsified documents submitted by Dr. Nilda and no doubt help from her home-town buddies had defrauded a court in the United States to grant custody to a known fugative from justice, perjurer and child kidnapper and abuser. Essentially, the court was maneuvered into endorsing child abduction.

Are authorities concerned about obstruction of justice? Of course not. The Davis-Flores gang seems to be immune from prosecution, remember? It would be good to find out why. If others do these things, they are thrown in the slammer.

As far as I am concerned, my son -- James Rogers Keene -- who is still underage, can walk out and come home any time. No problem. I guarantee that the Davis-Flores gang could not and would not make a peep. Their con game is over.

Tell People the Victim Parent (the author) is "Mentally Ill"

Con: This plank in Dr. Nilda's cover story has been used since day one, Feb 1, 1995, when my children were kidnapped from the Commonwealth of Dominica.

It is about this simple:
If one is a psychiatrist, the victim parent is alleged to be mentally ill.
If one is not, the victim parent is alleged to be a child molester. As far as I know, this latter untruth has never been floated, so that is the good part -- she can't fall back on that cover-story suddenly after a decade, when the falsehood of the first con above is clear.
Lesson: The con game goal is not to win a creativity contest. For a psychiatrist offender to say that the victim spouse is "mentally ill" is definitely not very creative. "Lost on Amazon expedition", "frozen at North Pole" or "taken by UFO" are more creative. What the con artist needs is credibility. Of course, a psychiatrist would know who is and is not "mentally ill," right? End of story. Who will stop and consider the sanity of a psychiatrist who thinks the best management or treatment for a "mentally ill" spouse is to cut off all contact between children and parent.

Summary: The best con uses what works, not what is most creative. What works is what sends people asking questions on their way.

Fact: The author is blessed to be one of the healthiest individuals one could ever meet. Please see cast of characters for more on me, and the other players in this ongoing story.

This Story is Like ... What?

Given the overall wickedness of denying two children and a parent of their rightful relationship over ten years of growing up, maybe this story is like, say, the recent Scott Peterson case, where the Davis-Flores gang, like Peterson, are seen as extremely unlikeable, even disgusting, people.

The childless Pedro Davis-Flores gang member, usurping my rightful role as "father figure," is clearly a look at the face of evil -- imposed on my children for a decade. The childless Ana Davis-Flores, usurping my rightful role as care-giver to my children, is another face of evil who imposed herself on innocent children in this macabre plot.

Not only do the senior kidnappers promulgate the above falsehoods and defamation about the author, but after ten years, one might expect that my children may have been twisted into this contorted mold. Imagine the pain for these kids -- just trying to live -- with these falsehoods and lies about their own father, and perhaps even spreading this misinformation and hate themselves.

Yes, no doubt about it. This Davis-Flores clan might well be fairly described as some sort of "satanic cult". But that does not describe the story line: An innocent man is used to sire two lovely children and is then discarded as the cult takes his beloved children into its sick, secret domain. What story is like that?

In presenting these articles, the author has much to overcome. First, the story is "dark". It is dreary. Who wants to even think about such things? Second, with these con games, many may think that the author is really the "bad guy". However, I have made the choice to try to present a fair and balanced view of this extraordinary case.

One method to communicate is to say, "This is like ... like something known to the reader." This case is so far off the charts, I cannot think of any similar case familiar to readers. Sure, about likeability, one can fairly say these people are like Scott Peterson, about as low on the scale as it gets. But what kidnapping, what story, what movie plot is like this case? Suggestions?

Maybe people will be saying in the future that some new horrific tale "is like the Ma Nilda case", as a way to communicate its wicked, cult-like, dark features.
