October 10th, Joedy and Matt went to visit Rita in Wytheville, VA. Since we had a free day before Matt had to take a tour of VPI, it was time for caving! Rita had previously located Speedwell Cave about 10 miles out of Wytheville, so, we were off. Speedwell cave is right at the side of the road. Just park the car and enter the cave. It had multiple entrances and we tried them all.
You would think that a cave so near the road would have been trashed. This cave had great formations. However, this was one muddy, snotty, slippery cave! Be very careful in this cave!
