Chemical Makeup

The chemicals of Jupiter is fasinating, as few of them are solid. In fact, the only solid part of Jupiter is it's inner mantle, which is composed of solid hydrogen. The outer mantle is composed of liquid hydrogen and helium, meaning that there is no solid crust. This means that it would be impossible to land anything on the planet - there would be nowhere for it to rest!

This is a picture of Jupiter's spectrum. Scientists use this to determine the chemical makeup of the planet.

This is a cross-section of Jupiter. You can use it to gain an idea about what the planet is made of.
