Nash could be bowling again
soon

Dion Nash's match-turning century for
Auckland on Wednesday was pleasing but not his most satisfying
moment at the Basin Reserve this week. After scoring 100 in
Auckland's remarkable Shell Trophy comeback against Wellington
today, the injury-troubled New Zealand allrounder confirmed
he could be back at the bowling crease this summer.
"I rolled my arm over in the nets last
night and I might be able to bowl a bit of medium pace as
the season goes on," Nash said. "I got through about four
or five overs. It was only off about five paces but it was
nice to even think about bowling again. It's the first time
I've even be able to get through my action."
Nash last bowled for New Zealand in
the first test against Zimbabwe in September only for his
troublesome back to rule him out of bowling for the remainder
of the series.
He has played as a batsman for Auckland
this summer and admits his fighting 281-minute, 236-ball hundred
was a relief. His fourth first-class century included 14 boundaries
and in tandem with fellow century-maker Kyle Mills, helped
Auckland recover from 109-7 to be 317-8 at stumps.
"I committed myself to playing for
Auckland as a batsman but till you actually do something like
today there is always an element of doubt," Nash said.
