Dion Nash
From The Stars of Cricket Signature Book (1996) by Margot Butcher

Dion Joseph Nash made his New Zealand debut in Zimbabwe in 1992 - just a year after his Shell Cup and Trophy debuts. Having played only four first-class matches up until that point, it had been almost 30 years since any New Zealand cricketer had reached the international arena with so little experience. But he is cementing his claim to fame. A former star allrounder at international Youth level, Dion is now better known as an ever-improving pace bowler and quick and polished outfielder, impressing even the stuffiest critics in England in 1994 when he sensationally became the first man ever to score a 50 and then take 10 wickets (11 actually: 6-76 and 5-93) in a test at the spiritual home of cricket - Lord's.

Birthdate/Place: 20 November, 1971, Auckland

The most stimulating or triumphant moment I have experienced on a cricket field was: Converting the try for the Mudsharks versus Fear & Loathing to win 12-10 in the Otago Varsity Social Rugby final at Logan Park - it's a cricket field in the summer!

If there's one side I really like to beat on the field it's: The Canterbury cut-outs!

The best peices of clothing I've ever owned are: Jeans and a t-shirt
Other sports I really enjoy are: Anything which takes place at the beach or near water. And I like watching league and rugby.
I think a good motto for life would be: "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing" - H.K.
My great ambition in life is to: Sail around the Pacific - and do everything well.
