Our
Mission statment:Our mission
is to develop and deliver youth Soccer programs which promote fun
family environment based on our philosophies. Qeransa's philosophy
grew out of a deep concern for the well-being of all participants.
The five principles of "everyone plays," "balanced
teams", "open registration", "positive coaching",
and "good sportsmanship" mean one thing: Qeransa exists
for the benefit of Oromo youth-- for their growth and positive development,
and pure enjoyment. These philosophies, determined by the Qeransa
founders in 1996, still guide the organization today.
Everyone
plays:
"Everyone plays"
means every oromo youth, regardless of ability, plays at least one
half of every game. In Qeransa, everyone plays because youth learn
skills, teamwork and sportsmanship, and develop confidence and self-esteem
by playing, not by spectating.
Balanced teams: "Balancing teams"
is Qeransa's way of keeping competition fair, so it's more fun for
everyone. Players skills are evaluated at the end of each season
so that balanced teams can be formed the next year. Balanced teams
means competitive, interesting games for all who play and watch.
Open
membership: "Open registration" is Qeransa 's equal
rights measure. It means Keransa does not restrict membership on
the basis of talent, race, religion or any type of belief or attitude.
There are no tryouts or cuts in Qeransa.
Positive
coaching:
"Positive coaching"
is the glue that holds together the Keransa philosophies and gives
them meaning for Qeransa players. Coaches instruct without condemning,
praise the individual but but correct the group, display good sportsmanship
and, in general, set a good example for Qeransa team.
Good sportsman: We
desire to create a positive environment based on mutual respect,
rather than a win-at-all-costs attitude. All our programs must be
designed to instill "good sportsmanship" in every facet
of Qeransa.
