~*Ballet*~

I have been taking ballet lessons since I was three years old. I kept taking ballet until 2 years ago when I had to quit because of hip injuries. I think too much of a good thing can be bad for you in the long run. Over the years I developed a form of arthritis in my hip joints and ballet moves have become hard to perform. I still keep it up on my own. I also teach ballet and jazz classes to girls from 3-10 years old. It's my first time teaching so it's a very new experience for me.

Pointe:

When your ankles become strong enough you can move on to pointe shoes. These shoes contain a hard baked insert in the toes that allows dancers to stand on the tips of their toes. Pointe shoes are used in classical ballet. They come in many colors but normally pink. When you wear them you must prepare your feet by toughening them up with alchohol and tape certain points on your toes that could develop blisters.

I moved to pointe when I was 13. and believe me, "IT HURTS!" You get a lot of blisters and sores. But you look pretty doing it. It was fun to walk around on your tip toes but a pain to prepare your feet for it.
