I'd like
to start this review by saying I was initially disappointed by the snes
version of Syndicate. I'm a huge fan of the pc series so I expected a
lot. But after the first couple of missions I got the hang of it and really
enjoyed what this version has to offer. So equip your cyborgs with the
latest weapons and technology and prepare for world conquest!
Graphics: (6/10) The designers totally revamped
the in-game graphics but did them in the same style as the original Syndicate.
This mean gritty above views and limited visibility when your agents are
in buildings. The biggest change I noticed was that your view is much
closer so you can really see what your agents are doing. Use the mini
map when things get confusing.
Sound: (4/10) Syndicate was never really
big in the sound department. All you really notice is the music and the
gunshots. Kinda cool. The music gets excited whenever they're a lot of
action.
Fun: (7/10) Please remember this is not
really an action game. It's actually kinda difficult to do simple things,
like switching weapons and shooting. Half the fun comes from upgrading
your cyborgs, researching weaponry, acquiring new agents, and imposing
your will apon large groups of people. There's also the great feeling
you get when you see your agents standing around acting as cool as ever
with bodies and shrapnel all about.
Creativity: (8/10) Syndicate is very original.
I'm sure this snes port was difficult and risky. But I'm glad the designers
did it. Now we can all use corruption, murder, and intimidation to achieve
global conquests. Hooray!
Multi-Player:
