About Us

DeftCOM Systems Limited
A Bakersfield, California-based consulting firm providing services in environmental planning and natural resource management.

Specializing in environmental issues. Assists clients to comply with the California Environmental Quality Act - CEQA.

Extensive experience in analyzing land use and regulatory issues associated with waste facilities, water delivery and treatment systems, new communities, and recreational facilities.

Our Firm helps clients with Judicial Standards of Review and Typical Defenses: The procedural defenses commonly asserted during environmental litigation include statute of limitations, standing, and exhaustion of administrative remedies.

Other specialties are in the fields of atmospheric science and climatology with a Balanced Biosphere assessment and mitigation of projects that might be contrary to that balance.

Our firm is not the typical group of tree huggers with an environmental wacko agenda. Tradeoff and negotiation are tools of our trade. Long-term experience with large complicated development and macro planning efforts affords our clients the utmost insight to the environmental planning process and requirements.

About Environmental Pollution
We wish there was nothing to write under the title Environmental Pollution; but unfortunately that is not the case. We feel that, ultimately, survival of humans on Earth depends upon knowledge they possess.

Pollution has reached the stage where only a concerted effort by every citizen of Planet Earth will reverse the current trend toward an ultimate "eco-catastrophe." To make this concerted effort, you need an understanding of the basic principles of ecology and a knowledge of the nature of the problems that threaten the biosphere. Our food chain is not McDonald's folks, believe us.

Pollution Defined

Environmental pollution is the unfavorable alteration of our surroundings, wholly or largely as a byproduct of mans actions, through direct or indirect effects of changes in energy patterns, radiation levels, chemical and physical constitution and the abundance of organisms. These changes may affect man directly, or through his supplies of water and of agricultural and other biological products, his physical objects or possessions, or his opportunities for recreation and appreciation of nature.

Note: In 1965, the Environmental Pollution Panel of the Presidents Science Advisory Committee, USA, produced this definition of pollution.
