5 September 2000!
Well, please don't faint & fall out because I'm updating the news page! hahaha. I have been busy at work with Mid-South
Wrestling the past year as their Commissioner and I must say, I'm more excited to be in this great business now than I ever
have been!!! I will not be regurlarly updating this news page HOWEVER I am putting a link to my weekly commentary
column on the Mid-South Wrestling page so you can read "Beyond The Ropes" there. I share this column with our top professional
wrestling manager "The Crown Prince" Stephen Anthony. We also now have a LIVE Web Chat every Tuesday night at 7 pm est, and you can

Once again, I must apologize for not updating my page in a couple of weeks.
I have been so busy since my return to pro wrestling, and want to thank everyone in Mid-South Wrestling for making me
feel right at home since I've returned. Now, some of you know by now and some of you don't, but I am no longer a part of
The Legion Of Death! After Soultaker couldn't beat Blade Boudreaux and lost the World Title THEN tried to blame me
for it, I have decided I don't need their dead a$$es any longer. I have been in closed meetings with the powers that
be in Mid-South Wrestling, and we have a BIG announcement to make at our November 14th Gibson Tennessee show! I would
also like to announce that we will be wrestling in South Fulton TN on Sat Nov 20th at the Kenn-Tenn Community Center
on Rosenwald St (right off state-line rd). You can get advance tickets at the Cash Advance on State Line rd or charge by phone or online
at www.ticketsnow.com We will be offering tickets for sale through all Ticketmaster locations very soon. We will return to South
Fulton on Sat December 18th with "Handsome" Jimmy Valiant! We will also return to Dresden Tennessee on Sat Nov 27th at the McWherter
Civic Center on Evergreen st (the old armory). We will also have tickets available this week at ticketsnow.com and you can also get them at the Cash Advance
on W. Main St in Dresden starting next week.

I regret to say I will no longer be covering the PPV's. I simply
do not have the time I once did as I have gotten back into active wrestling with Mid-South Wrestling and have
been given a bit of responsibility in the promotion. We wrestle most Sundays when the PPV's are on so I couldn't
even be home to TRY to report on them IF I had the time. I'll still update my links and the news & rumors right here
when I get the time to. You can always find out what's happening with me & Mid-South Wrestling as well as where
we will be on tour (like Gibson TN on Halloween & November 14th, South Fulton TN on November 20th and Dresden
TN on November 27th) on the Mid-South Wrestling website which is linked on my page!

The Pro Wrestling World Loses Another Great!
At 7:15 tonight (wednesday) Brian Hildebrand aka Mark Curtis lost his long battle with
cancer and passed away. Most people will remember him as WCW referee Mark Curtis, while
others will remember him from Smokey Mountain Wrestling as he was a main part of the
Smokey Mountain -vs- USWA battles in Memphis earlier in the 90's which was by far some
of THE BEST BOOKED pro wrestling in history! Those of us in the biz have lost
a very close brother and Brian will be remembered for MANY years to come. My thoughts, along
with all the staff of Mid-South Wrestling send our sincere thoughts out to Brian's
family. RIP my brother!

I have finally returned actively to the
wrestling business! I have joined a top team in Mid-South Wrestling, The LOD
(Legion Of Death), and I am now known as "The Night Stalker". Our members are
myself, The Soultaker and Blaze. We come from The Darkside and we do WHAT we want and WHEN
we want! The Soultaker beat The Moondog on August 29th to become the Heavyweight
Champion of the World with my assistance. Our next goal is to take the
MSWA World Tag-Team Titles and it doesn't matter who's got them, we'll take their belts...then
we'll take their souls! There will be new pictures coming soon. For
everyone who's written me from the Weakley/Obion County area, Mid-South Wrestling
is coming to Union City Tennessee on Saturday September 25th at the National Guard
Armory on Reelfoot Ave at 7:30 p.m. and we are working to bring the MSWA to Martin as well.

I've been having BIG problems with my
mail server so if you've written in the past 2-3 weeks, please write again
at my new address (it's in my e-mail button below). I've also been very busy lately
and that's why there haven't been many updates. We've been designing webpages
for others and it is VERY time consuming as I'm sure you know. I should
be back to regular updates this week. I am also
having to stop doing the Monday Night Mayhem page because I simply do
not have the time to keep everything current. Thanx for your patience.

UPDATE ON THE LIVING DOLL "The Living Doll" Michael
Anthony is recovering from his back surgery and is healing up well. The 3-time SWA
World Heavyweight Champ has agreed to do the play by play commentary for Mid-South
Wrestling while he is still in the recovery process. Mid-South Wrestling will be
in Dresden Tennessee at the New Armory on Saturday night, July 17th at 7:30 p.m. and will
feature "Handsome" Jimmy Valiant, The Boogie-Woogie Man himself! Also, on Sunday
afternoon, July 18th, MSWA will be at it's regular spot (every 1st & 3rd Sunday) in Gibson Tennessee at the Municipal
Auditorium at 2:15 p.m. "Handsome" Jimmy Valiant will team up with
Ricky Morton of the Rock 'n' Roll Express to challenge The Missouri Bad Boyz
for the World Tag Team Titles!
Mid-South Wrestling is currently in negotiations with
"The Road Dogg" Jessie James of the WWF and D-X! We hope to have an update
on this deal very soon and will announce when The Road Dogg signs with the MSWA!

LIVING DOLL'S SURGERY DONE SUCESSFULLY!
It's been a week now since my surgery and I sit here very sore, but wanted
to post an update to everyone and say I'm sorry for not being able to
do any new updates on this page or on this past Monday night, but I'm sure
you can understand how sore it is after back surgery. I want to say a big
THANK YOU to everyone who's written me well wishes and say that everything went well
with the operation. It really makes you realize during times like these that the
fans are the greatest people in the world and without all of you, I would have no
reason to undertake the physical therapy I am about to undergo in order to
make my return to the ring. Thanx for keeping me in your thoughts and in your hearts
and I assure you that if you've written to me over the past couple weeks, I will
personally answer you back, though it will take a little time.
I must also give a big shout to The Tuffguy Joey Bravo, The Hellraiser and Storm for
all their support and help and a big hello to the entire AWF. I look forward to
working with each and every one of you real soon. Doc says I can start training in
about a month if things go well to make my return! Thanx again to everyone and
I'll update again when I can. My wonderful wife Suzie will probably handle the
Pay Per View for me this Sunday. I am very lucky to have such a loving and supportive
soulmate as she is and I thank my lucky stars daily!!!

Mid-South Wrestling in Dresden Tennessee!
On Saturday night, June 12th, Mid-South Wrestling will be at the McWherter Civic
Center in Dresden Tennessee. This is the Old National Guard on Evergreen St.
Among those scheduled to appear are: Naughty By Nature, Dynamite Kid,
The Legion Of Death, Bobby "The Butcher" and The Missouri Bad Boyz.
I have worked for and with Mid-South Wrestling alot off and on since 1992
and will be on hand as well but will only be signing autographs and I might
lend my commentating expertise to a match or two. As I am scheduled for back surgery
on June 15th, this will be my last public appearance for some time.
I hope to see everyone there!

"The Living Doll" Scheduled For Back Surgery!.
On June 15th, Michael Anthony "The Living Doll" will go under the knife once again
to repair a back injury he recieved in a Hardcore/Extreme match after being
thrown 15 feet through 2 tables to the concrete floor, which aggravated a
previous injury recieved falling into a metal ring frame.
Anthony is
optimistic that once he recovers from this surgery that he will once again be able to enter
the ring but is prepared if he is not. The Champ wants to thank everyone for their
support and letters he's recieved while he's been out of action, and wants to send
a special hello to "Tuffguy" Joey Bravo and to the "Hellraiser".
Updates and progress reports will be posted regularly so check back to see how everything
goes.

OWEN HART PASSES AWAY AT WWF'S OVER THE EDGE.
Owen was going to be 'flown' in as the "Blue Blazer" and due to a technical malfunction, his harness apparently
broke and he plummeted down from the lights in the arena.
My thoughts go out to the entire Hart Family! We have lost another brother in our sport.

Another WWF Worker Gets 'Reworked' In Memphis!
WWF's "FATU" is in Memphis Power Pro Wrestling tuning up his wrestling skills
and has made an impact already! "J.R. Smooth" as he is called now made
his Memphis PPW live Saturday morning TV debut this morning and upset
"Freebird" Michael Hayes to win the Memphis PPW Heavyweight Championship.
"J.R. Smooth" looks like he's been taking lessons from the 'Godfather' the way he's
got his hair all roped up and with the colorful out of date pimp-style clothing
and gold jewelry complete with sunglasses.
Fatu got help to win the title from Glen Kolka and after the loss, Hayes
was understandably upset & said he's making a call to Chattanooga Tennessee
to "FREEBIRD MOUNTAIN" and the next time we see him, he'll be standing
next to Terry 'Bam Bam' Gordy who was another of the original
"Fabulous Freebirds".
I know the WWF's & NWA's Hardy Boys had been selected by Hayes to reform the
"Fabulous Freebirds" with him, so we'll have to wait & see what happens now.

Legendary "TRUE" Inventor Of Hardcore Dies Near Atlanta!
Legendary "Crazy Canadian Lumberjack" Joe LeDuc died in his hometown of
Fayette County in Georgia on Sunday night. He is most famous for his longstay
in the former CWA/USWA which is now Memphis Power Pro Wrestling and his classic
battles with Jerry "The King" Lawler. He once took a "blood oath" on live
TV to 'get' Lawler which involved taking his ax and making a rather large slice on his arm
which in the 70's and 80's was considered quite "shocking".
I never had the pleasure of meeting or working with Joe but a secretary I had once used to date him in the early 80's
in Memphis. Once again, my great sport has suffered a great loss. Joe was 52
and his funeral is Thursday May 6.

STING NEW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION! BUT.....
Tonight at Fargo North Dakota, Sting Pinned DDP after an awesome 20+ minute
match to win the WCW World Championship. These are both friends of mine
but I am glad to see Sting with another World Title reign. The WCW Championship
committee has now changed Slamboree on May 9th to Sting -vs- Goldberg for the title.
Kevin Nash was slated to wrestle DDP for the belt so the championship committee
ordered a 4-way match for the title with DDP, Sting, Goldberg & Nash with
DDP coming away with the belt once again with the help of Randy Savage.

"RAVISHING RICK RUDE" FOUND DEAD
Former WWF Intercontinental and NWA/WCW US & International World Heavyweight
Champion "Ravishing" Rick Rude (Richard Rood) was found dead on
April 20th at the age of 41. No known cause of death is yet known but
most are speculating it was a heart attack. I personally knew Rick in the 80's and
he was a hell of a guy both in the ring & in the back locker room area.
He was not a man who used drugs and he was one of the most honest men in the business.
He is probably most remembered for the period where he "wanted" the wife of
Jake 'the snake' Roberts, Cheryl and
went so far as to have a likeness of her face printed on his wrestling tights.
R.I.P. Ravishing one...We will all miss you my friend!

WCW's SPRING STAMPEDE RESULTS HERE TONIGHT AS SOON AS THEY HAPPEN!

I also want to apologize for not having many news & rumor updates recently.
We have been very busy getting the garden started and getting the pool ready
for swimming season. I am also recovering from 2 teeth that started to abcess, then had to be "yanked"
which resulted in me being knocked out since the bottom one was needing to actually be cut out. Don't worry though,
they were the very back ones so I'll still keep my smile! .
I do have some updates for this week sooooo
here they are: First, I reported earler
that Scott Hall would probably be retiring once he & his wife Dana got
back together. Well, Scott & Dana were remarried and it looks like now he will only
be taking some extra time off, then will only work a very light schedule (as I suggested).
This is great news to the wrestling world as he is truly a wonderful worker!
Speaking of marriage, Shawn Michaels and Whisper of the Nitro Girls were
officially married in Las Vegas. I wish my brother in the biz the very best!
Jerry 'the king" Lawler is going to wrestle once again in the WWF in addition to
his announcing duties. His first match back isn't an easy one as he will
face Midian (Dennis Knight) of the Ministry.
Legendary tag team "The Fabulous Ones" (Stan Lane & Steve Keirn)
have reunited in Memphis Power Pro Wrestling and are feuding with Jerry Lawler & Bill "Superstar" Dundee.
So far, each team has one victory, with the tiebreaker coming
at the New Daisy Arena on historic Beale Street on Friday, April 23.
Kurt Angle ALMOST won the gold in the pro ranks. Kurt took on Steve Bradley this morning on Memphis PPW live
for the "Young Guns" Championship. This is a title that wrestlers who are new to
the sport, or are in their first 2-3 years can compete for.
Angle had the match won & Bradley chose to leave the studio so Kurt
wins the match by countout but does not get the gold.
I want to thank everyone for all the mail I'm getting and all the well wishes
on my upcoming back surgery! It really means alot and lets me realize that without all you fans
there would be no "LIVING DOLL" or wrestling in general. Good Luck to everyone
reading this, always, from the bottom of my heart!!!

LEGENDARY PRO WRESTLER & PROMOTER DIES AT THE AGE OF 91
Herb Welch of the famed Jarrett/Welch promotions from the Tennessee and Kentucky area
passed away on this past Monday, March 29th 1999, of heart failure. Herb was 91.
Aside from being a legend, Herb Welch was also my Uncle, and the man who trained me and "broke
me in" to the wrestling business. The Welch family and the Jarrett family are responsible for much of
Pro Wrestling's popularity it enjoys today. Every Saturday morning, we
could always look forward to seeing "Saturday Morning Studio Wrestling" and
it was ALWAYS live and fresh! The Jarrett legacy is carried on by
Jeff Jarrett in the WWF and the Welch name was carried on by
Robert Fuller, who used to be known as Col. Parker in WCW and, incidentially
managed JJ Jeff Jarrett. Uncle Herb, rest in peace, the wrestling
world in general will miss you! Thank You for all you did for this sport!!!

Also, in Memphis Power Pro Wrestling news; The promotion is shocked as Freebird
Michael Hayes and Brandon Baxter convince one of the promotions top
heels and former PPW World Champ "Baldo" to turn face and join them in
their battle with promotion owner Randy Hales. If you live near the Memphis Tennessee area
you need to be at the Omni New Daisy Arena on world famous Beale st.
this Friday night, April 2nd to see a top card from Memphis PPW.
Among those signed are the Fabulous Ones (Stan Lane & Steve Keirn) to
take on the legendary team of Jerry "the King" Lawler & Bill "Superstar"
Dundee.
In other news, I had put off posting this in hopes that it
was not true, but from what I've been told, it is iminent; OUTSIDER
great Scott Hall is calling it quits. It seems he & his wife Dana
have gotten back together and one of her stipulations is that he give
up Pro Wrestling to commit all his time to her & his kids.
I personally think he could still wrestle but cut back on his schedule & leave the drugs & booze
alone, but I wish him & his family all the best of luck in the world.
I was fortunate enough to wrestle with Scott in the late 80's and I
can tell you he is one class act!!! Hell, if he retires, then once
I have my back surgery & get back to active wrestling, there won't be that many
left that I still know! hahaha. Enjoy the WRESTLEMANIA XV results!

Kurt Angle Wrestles A Match!
1996 Olympian Kurt Angle Wrestled his 1st professional match
(to my knowlegde) on Memphis Power Pro Wrestling's weekly live television
program this morning. He defeated "The Yellowjacket" in about
10 seconds. He interviewed about being the best in the world today
and how many of the wrestlers in the lockeroom feel he should stick
with the amateur ranks and stay out of the pros. Kurt stated he will prove them wrong.
He looked good in the ring & won by a text-book suplex.
By the way, I now have last Monday night's report up.

A FABULOUS FREEBIRD IS NEW WORLD
CHAMPION Michael p.s. Hayes of the famed Fabulous Freebirds has defeated
'Baldo' to become Memphis Power Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Champion. Many of you
will know Hayes as "Dok Hendrix" from doing interviews and announcing with the
WWF, but he is Michael P.S. Hayes of the "Fabulous Freebirds". I had never
actually heard of 'Baldo' before PPW debuted him, but I've been at some of their
matches, and I tell you, this guy is a TANK! He's around 6'8 and around 400 lbs
without alot of the fat that comes with weighing that much. My first impression
was "man, I hope my comeback match after surgery is NOT against him!" Don't get
me wrong, I could beat him, as P.S. did, but don't relish the thought of having
my back re-broken in the 1st match back in over a year! Oh yeah, for those
wondering, the P.S. in Michael's name stands for "Purely Sexy". The Freebirds
were THE dominant tag-team a few years ago. They were the 1st team to actually
have 3 members come out, and, for example, when they were world tag team
champions(many times over in many different federations), any 2 of the 3 could
defend the titles. The other two were Buddy Roberts and Terry "BAM BAM" Gordy.

HOLLYWOOD HOGAN'S INSANE JEALOUSY REARS IT'S
UGLY HEAD ONCE AGAIN Well, Hogan's jealousy is once again about
to make a negative impact on MY sport! Hogan can't stand the tremendous
popularity Ric Flair's got right now so he's gonna try to 'worm' his way
back in the public's good graces. 'The Natureboy' genuinely hates
hogan's guts, so if HH can return to his 'glory' days of the red &
yellow "HULK HOGAN", and be welcomed back in the fan's hearts with open arms,
this will most likely leave Flair hanging high `n` dry as the most hated man in
pro wrestling. How in the hell could all the millions of wrestling fans
forgive & forget all hogan's said & done over the past 3 years. He
didn't just turn 'heel', he turned his back on all the kids and fans who
made him who he was. Even when Ric Flair was the biggest 'heel' in the
business, he NEVER told the fans & kids they could "Stick It Brother" or
to "Go To Hell" as hogan's done repeatedly. I really hope this does NOT
come to pass, let's all hope!
I do expect to see Flair become
heavyweight champion of the world for the 14th time at Uncensored, I
just hope Hogan can not tarnish it in any way. Hogan...Please just GO
AWAY!!!!!!
