I really needed You today.

I stood in the rain.
I watched my husband get on a bus and roll away.
My heart was broken.
I was thinking I couldn't make it alone.
I felt small and weak.

So, I prayed for him to come back.
But, instead, You gave me strength.

I really needed You today.

The baby was cryin.
School let out at three.
Homework at four.
Dinner at five.
Soccer at six.
I didn't get to do the dishes or the laundry.

So, I prayed for more time.
But, instead, You gave me patience.

I really needed You today.

I wrecked my car.
My mind went blank.
My hands were shaking.
My heart pounding.
I couldn't move.

So, I prayed for You to make it go away like it never happened.
But, instead, You gave me calmness.

I may never get what I pray for.
But You always give me what I need.

I love You with all my heart.
But, You loved me first.

You gave everything for me, my family, my children.
For all of mankind.
You're always there when we need You.

And You will forever be my king, my lord, my savior, and my friend.
