Day 4 continued

Wrecked Dhow at Ras Duqm

Eventually we reached Ras Duqm and managed to satisfy Alex’s quest for more ice, fortunately I had purchased a new Engel fridge before the trip and several others also had fridges, which with hindsight was a damn good plan and better for an expedition like this rather than using cold boxes and ice.

Colin had a friend from UK who was keen on taking pictures and they frequently fell behind. We were also having communication problems enhanced by the fact that none of Alex’s group had radios, which makes this type of convoy travelling difficult.

Eventually we reached Ras Madrakka, although some confusion came about when Alex disappeared for more ice, and poor Kaye felt all abandoned.

Shipwreck at Ras Madrakka

The shipwreck at Ras Madrakka was quite impressive and made for an interesting camp site.
