Wash basin – shared with numerous cows and goats!

Bush mechanics – even Toyota’s need a little TLC!

A good part of the smooth track – it got a lot rockier – not for Land Rovers – Toyotas ONLY!

Bush Camp – 13/01/03

True to form – the mandatory bush camp!

Himba Girl

Sadly, the wiles of alcohol are taking its toll on the Himba, and at nearly every village the streets were littered with empty and broken beer bottles!

Omarunga Camp – Epupa Falls – S17.00.125 E013.14.764 – 2 090 ft amsl – N$51.75 pppn

Brilliant outdoor showers, and loo’s! Also great cold beers! A typical modern oasis in the desert! Met with Dieter of Ondjamba Safaris – they tailor make tours to view the Desert elephant. He advised us on venturing further into the Koakoland – you definitely need GPS co-ordinates and another vehicle. We decided not to do this area at the moment – it was too hot and we had not prepared properly.
We will save it for next time!

Our destination – Epupa Falls
