Highschool recollections

"My date dumped me for somebody else. At the prom! I'm not sure if she was actually making out with my friend, but I sensed that it was about to happen, so I gave them some privacy. Seventeen years old and a big-time broken heart."

• Other Facts:

•Perry was a junior tennis ace before taking up acting.
•Matthew never graduated high school. He gave up his studies when he won a role in a sitcom called Boys will be Boys.
• When Courteney Cox first appeared in her heavier make-up and costume for TOW the prom video, she walked by Matthew Perry and said ‘hey.’ He did not recognize her.
•Matthew Perry co-wrote a sitcom for NBC called Maxwell’s House. It was about a group of friends who sat around a New York coffeehouse talking about their lives. The script was pretty sharp, but the NBC already had a similar sitcom in the works – Friends!!
•Chandler was originally a secondary character, just there for the quick quippy one-liners. But Matthew Perry was able to make Chandler a very funny, yet vunerable and sometimes romantic character. Marta Kauffman says it’s the realer Chandler moments that she adores.
