CCA Miscarriage?
June 6, 2001

The New York Post writer Liz Smith wrote this in her column today:

The story goes that the baby expected by "Friends" star Courteney Cox and David Arquette has been lost to a miscarriage. The TV beauty had told family and pals she was expecting. Her press people just say, "No comment."

Do "Friends" Pregnancies Await Us?
May 24, 2001

Womb with a View

Off the soapbox, let's discuss some gals who have (inadvertently or otherwise) made their baby-making ways a matter of note.

And I'm delivering only because hyped-up Tinseltown chatterers just can't stop yammering about the Friends finale.

A knocked-up Rachel, oh my goodness! Does this mean Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt are getting down to baby business sooner than anyone thought?

Let's put it this way: A select few are gasping about an ultrasecret pregnancy test that reportedly came back positive--and this one's not make-believe.

Well, Jen's got the high-profile spit-up storyline--but she's not the real-life mama-to-be, if these stork-stokers are to be believed.

Courteney Cox Arquette just learned she's expecting, according to a sniffer close to C.C.A. and her hubby, David Arquette--even though her rep denies it.

Busybodies who toil for the famous duo report that Courteney simply doesn't want word getting out, but you know how things go in this town. Two people can keep info confidential (maybe), but once three or more are involved, it quickly trickles to media persons such as myself.

Few Friends-related folks have been let in on the news, and there's no word yet on whether such an event would be written in as a newborn for Monica and Chandler. Think they'd take attention away from Jen's hot plot? Doubt it.

The other sweet side to this tale is that, despite endless gabbing about conflict in their union, David plans to stick by his wife-unit's expanding side throughout the whole cycle. Even plans to take on only projects that keep him in the Hell-Ay area, the devoted dad-in-waiting does.

D.A.'s management confirmed the Scream dude will be filming Screenland (about a silent-movie theater) in L.A. this summer. But the rep stopped short of commenting on any "personal stuff" regarding his client.

Not so C.C.A.'s spokesperson: "She's definitely not pregnant," said the flack, who was sweet but genuinely flustered by the recent slate of "untrue" coverage regarding the Arquette union.

Understandable. Just can't win in this biz--no matter what the gossip.

As with the following item, only the calendar (not the cluckers) will clue us fer sure. From Ted Casablanca's "The Awful Truth" at E! Online.

Matthew Perry in Car Accident April 19, 2001

Matthew Perry was in a car accident yesterday in West Los Angeles at 11:45 a.m. His gray, 2000 BMW collided with a white Ford Escort driven by a 75-year-old woman. According to officers, the woman failed to yield to oncoming traffic at an intersection. Perry's car suffered major damage to its front end, and a source said that the actor received a cut on his left arm. Authorities tell us no intoxicants were involved in the collision. Last May, the 31-year-old actor wrecked his Porsche when he swerved to avoid a car in the Hollywood Hills and drove into someone's porch. A spokesperson for Perry had no comment at this time.
