Remember a park bench and anguished tears, consolation fails,
The Cheatin' Heart, a book of love poems, dreams of fairy tales,
Dinner by candlelight and “Only In My Heart” composed to sing,
“In Paradise”, a flower in paper boat sinks with diamond ring.
Remember a dulcet strain of Lord Byron, atop a Grecian hill,
Exquisite nuptials, romantic honeymoon, a present of “I Will”.
Luncheon at Blondie’s, for the entree a necklace of sapphire,
First Christmas shared, “What Child is This?”, lyrics to inspire.
Remember the loss of little “he/she”, this first of sorrows endured,
Disloyalties, successive heartaches, sacred marriage vows obscured.
Burying the honeymoon shell and promises renewed on a desert isle,
Shattered dreams, and a poignant parting of the ways for just awhile.
Remember “Give Me Wings” and reflections of the past by frozen pond,
Amidst construction collapsing, a rekindled love forges a deeper bond.
The devastating loss of a little boy, yet appearances are deceiving,
A & J become partners, drawn together through a time of bereaving.
Remember a diamond in the corner pocket, a recreated Cheatin’ Heart,
“Let It Be Me”, a surprise wedding with vows till death us do part.
A two-fold birth, the adoption of sons, and a little one on the way,
Father and son reunited, our couple depart, hoping to return one day.

a beautiful tribute to one of daytime's most romantic couples!
