May 1984: Beth & Lujack surprise Tony & Annabelle |
"You know, it's pretty bare in here, Beth said as she began to place candles around th emattress. "I wish we'd have brought something else." "What do you need for a honeymoon, besides a bed?" "Romantic atmosphere." "Hey," Lujack said as he fixed the broken mantle piece. "They'll make their own romantic atmosphere." "Well, the candles will help at least." "Candles are corny, honey." "Lujack, you're beyond hope." Lujack turned back to see her setting everything up and was struck by the romantic scene. [Fade out]
"Hey, what are you doing?" "What does it look like I'm doing?" "I thought this was supposed to be for a honeymoon, not a funeral," he teased. "You really don't understand romance, do you?" Lujack gets defensive. "Are you kidding me? I happen to be one of the most romantic guys in Springfield." Beth laughs. "You said so yourself!" "When?" "That day we went swimming at Laurel Falls." "No, no," she counters. "I said you were cute and sexy--not romantic." "Same thing." "Uh-uh." She begins to spread flowers petals over and around the mattress.
"Yeah." "About a two." "Oh, man, what are you saying?" "Coming on strong isn't romantic Lujack. Romance is tenderness. It's caring for someone else." "Okay kids, welcome to Sunday School." Beth smiles. "A kiss on the cheek can be romantic." "Oh brother, man..."
