Nicky's getting another new tooth! This one's coming in on the top, two back from his current four teeth. So it looks like he's skipping ahead!
Our latest technique for putting him to bed is to wait until he's obviously tired, then put him down and let him scream. It pains me, because I hate hearing him so upset, but 90% of the time he goes to sleep within 10 minutes -- or even within 2 minutes! Sometimes, it doesn't work. Last night he was tired. I put him to sleep at 8.30. He screamed until 9. I got him up, then he went down (comparatively) happily at 9.30. . . sigh. . . !
A couple of weeks ago, I took him with me when I got my car serviced. We had a lovely day around Blacktown, though it was tiring for me! I took a picnic blanket, and we played in the park for a while. We went for a long walk, and he fell asleep. I did some banking etc., then came back to the park, and I was able to read for a while before he woke up. We had some food in McDonalds, then he played in the playground. It was awfully cute! They have a sort of playhouse/cubby. He was too small to go into most of it, of course, but he had lots of fun crawling along the bottom part, and I lifted him up so he could see the kids in the rest of it. He giggled and chased the other kids when they came past. He also crawled over to a shy-looking little girl, maybe 10-12 years old, and laid his head on her knee for a cuddle!
This is one of my favourite photos. He looks cheeky and friendly, which is exactly him, as you know.
