OK, What Do I Do?
"Your mission, should you choose to accept it..."
So you've seen the show, maybe borrowed a tape from somebody, and you think the show's good enough to come back on the air (or maybe you're just curious enough to want to see it again.) Now what?
Well...I'll be the first to admit, it doesn't look good. It's been a year since the show debuted, and months since any reruns aired. But all hope is not yet lost. DON'T GIVE UP! If you mailed a letter a few months ago, do it again, now. If you called, call again. Try two or three of the strategies below. We have to make our efforts constant and consistent in order to make FOX take us seriously. All hope is not yet lost. Don't forget, there are always a few shows in each season that tank within their first few episodes...making huge holes in the schedule. And then what could they possibly put on?!? :^D

Updated! Regular mail (or snail mail): I have several mailing address to the FOX network for our pleas. T he left address is the most commonly seen, and more likely to be general.
FOX Broadcasting Company |
FOX Broadcasting Company |
The address on the right seems to be more of an executive address, especially since Gail Berman (President of FOX Network) and Sandy Grushow (Chairman of FOX Entertainment Group) can be reached there:
President Gail Berman |
Chairman Sandy Grushow |
The original idea was for everyone out there to
send a real golfball to the network, along with
a letter telling them to keep the Gunmen on the air. However,
with the current anthrax scare, many of the networks are not opening
packages of any kind, especially lumpy ones. Postcards would
still do. Several sites, including Melemel 's,
even have print-out postcards to send in.
So keep that mail pouring in ... I've been reliably informed
that that is what Big Business pays attention to the most.
Thanks to: Sean, Melemel,
Cinescape.com
Take It to the Top: Here's an address for Gail and Sandy's bosses, the real head honchos at FOX. Show them you care--give 'em some golfballs!
FOX ENTERTAINMENT GROUP
1211 AVENUE OF THE AMERICAS 3RD FLOOR
NY, NY 10036
And the people to mail:
Rupert K. Murdoch-- Chairman and CEO and founder of FOX
Peter Chernin---President, C.O.O. and Director
David Devoe-- C.F.O., Senior Exec. V. P. and Director
Chase Carey-- Co-Chief Op. Officer and Director
Christos M. Cotsakos-- Director
Laura D. Tyson-- Director
Arthur Siskind-- Senior Exec. V.O., Gen. Counc. and Director
Thanks to: AmyJ
Updated! Phone calls: Want to express your opinion about the Gunmen? Use this phone number, the actual FOX Network line.
1-800-369-6848
According to the original information, you can leave voice mail for Gail Berman (extension 237626) and Sandy Grushow (extension 4787429.) I am no longer sure these extensions are valid. There's an additonal number for the West Pico address, but not toll free:
1-310-369-3353
And yet another for the New York offices:
1-212-852-7000
Christina Kounelias, Senior V.P. of Publicity and Primary press, (e-mail: christina@foxinc.com) can be reached at:
1-310-369-1570
If anyone
has more updated
information, e-mail
me.
Thanks
to: HypeWeary, Starrlyte, Melemel
E-mail: I have several addresses here, from research and fellow fans, to send our e-mail to. The first listed is the most likely to work, but they are all worth a shot. (Here's an idea--some e-mail programs will let you paste or attatch pictures. Send 'em a golfball or two electronically!)
Thanks to: Xalison, Foxsong
Local Affiliates: I know local affiliates don't have much power over line-ups, but if they get enough calls, letters, etc., they will pass it on to their bosses... It's another option. Due to time and space constraints I'm not going to list them all here, but if you go to FOX's official site you can find the affiliate closest to you. Some are just snail mail, some have websites. Check it out:
http://www.fox.com/links/affiliates.htm
Thanks to: Gormworm, Pryts for the idea
On-line Petition: While the guestbook is up, I'm still struggling with how to send this "petition" to The Powers That Be at FOX. Still, you're more than welcome to visit and sound off on the show, its future, the site... I'm throwing my full support to Lone Gunmen and the Fight for Intelligent Television Petition --it's everything I hoped mine would be. Please, go there and sign up, if you haven't already.
Thanks to: Mel for the advice
Other on-line campaigns: Check out--and maybe even join--some of the other on-line efforts to Save the Gunmen. I'm adding a links page to some of them--after all, every voice will count. If we make enough noise, we might get the show added into the schedule, even as a mid-season replacement...even next year?!? (Hey, I've gotta have some hope! :^D ) (Considering FOX's track record...they still need something good ... desperately.)
Updated! Other networks: If Buffy can jump networks, the Gunmen can too. And the way things are going, we might have more luck that way. Here are some likely targets:
United Paramount Network (UPN) |
Warner Brothers (WB)
|
|
Sci-Fi Channel/USA Network |
Comedy Central |
|
Columbia Broadcasting Stations (CBS)
|
National Broadcasting Company (NBC) |
|
American Broadcasting Company (ABC) |
||
Thanks to: Gumdrop for the UPN addys, Melemel with ABC, CBS, NBC, and Sci-Fi e-mails
A Word to Our Sponsors: To quote HypeWeary, who created this list of sponsors: "Please write to these companies and thank them for supporting TLG, tell them how great their product is, explain how badly you feel about the show's cancellation, and ask if they will continue to support the show in the future." Great idea--after all, money talks. If enough companies chime in to back the Gunmen, maybe FOX will reconsider axing our show. The companies are:

Microsoft Corporate Headquarters
|
Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc.
7500 Centurion Parkway, Suite 100
|
|
Taco Bell Corporation
|
The Coca Cola Company |

New! Fax Numbers: (finally!) The only one I have so far is the one for Christina Kounelias-- (310)369-1570. Any others would be greatly appreciated!

About the only thing we still don't have is FOX's fax number...anyone out there know it? If you do, e-mail me , please.
Want to print out this information? There's a black-and-white, edited version of this page here.
What about contacting 10-13 Productions, or the Gunmen themselves? Check out the new Contact the Gunmen page.
It may be a little thing to spend time on...but even the little things can make the world a little brighter. And I, for one, am positively sick of the dreary dramas, insipid sitcoms, and Survivor-style trash ALL the networks have given us as their sorry excuses for schedules this year. Let's keep one of the few good shows on today on the air!
