and Roswell Rigsby, my parents. Mama died March 13, 1993.
Daddy born August 22, 1910 still lives by himself in Snyder, Texas.
They were married July 4, 1936. |

(L to R) William Hiram Rigsby, Maudie
Louise "Rigsby" Landers, Jane Jince "Warford" Rigsby,
Louisa Rigsby. This picture was probably taken about 1904 in
Lonsdale, Garland County, Arkansas. William H. Rigsby was born in
1823 in Tennessee and married Jince Warford who was born in 1825 in
Tennessee. They moved with other Warford and Rigsby family to Hot
Spring County, Arkansas in mid to late 1840' and 50's. Maudie was
one of their grand-daughters and Louisa "Aunt Liza" was a
daughter who never married, but resided with them until their deaths and
then lived with her brother John H. Rigsby (my gr.grandfather) until
death. Wm. and Jince are buried at Rigsby
Cemetery on the old farm at Lonsdale. Aunt Liza is buried next
to John and his second wife Laura M. "Bewley"
"Humphries" Rigsby at Smith
Creek Cemetery. John's first wife Melvinia "Bowen"
Rigsby died early and is buried at the Rigsby Cemetery.

Her mother was Cynthia Rigsby, Aunt Liza's sister. Cynthia married
Bill Edds. Clemmie died young about 1914 and is buried at Slate
Branch Cemetery, located on highway 5 between Hot Springs and Benton
Arkansas just across the Garland/Saline County line in Saline County. |

Rigsby & Wife Mary S. "Waite" Rigsby, Laura Mildred
"Rigsby" "Jenkins" Wilhelm, Byrle Arthur Rigsby,
Carlos Theo Rigsby. A. H. Rigsby and Mary had these four
children. My uncle Byrle lives in Andrews, Texas and my dad in
Snyder, Texas. |

John
H. Rigsby: My gr. grandfather was born in Arkansas and married
Melvinia Bowen. They had two children, Martha and Belle. Both
daughters married Burks. After Melvinia's death John married Laura
"Bewley" Humphries whose husband had been killed near Searcy,
Arkansas. Laura had one daughter at the marriage whose name was Floy
"Floss". Floss married Sid Roswell Houpt for whom my dad
is named. Uncle Sid and Aunt Floss are buried at Ten
Mile Cemetery. Laura and John had two sons: Oscar Lee Rigsby who
married Pearl Allen and Arthur Hiram Rigsby who married Mary Susannah
Waite. |

This picture was taken in front of the A. H. Rigsby home at the corner of
6th and Greenwood in Hot Springs across the street from Greenwood
Cemetery. He was about 17. |
