Striper Fishing on
Toledo Bend, Texas
Trolling the
tree lines along the bends of the Sabine River as it winds its way through
the South end of Toledo Bend is great fun as the anticipation of hooking
onto a giant Striped Bass builds. Before you know it, one has got
you and you struggle to keep your seat as the fight begins. After
several minutes of battling this diving, pulling monster, you find yourself
either wrapped around one of our infamous stumps, or proudly holding your
catch! Average size for these fish is about nine to twelve pounds
and upwards to fifteen is not uncommon when they turn on in May, June,
and July.
Schooling striper
show up in the fall during October and November. Keep an eye out
for them while bass or crappie fishing and chase these bad boys through
the timber for some real excitement!
