Once upon a time (way back in 1994) a strange man named Richard was sitting on his couch watching a low budget horror film. Suddenly, he bolted into an upright position and screamed, "AS GOD AS MY WITNESS, I CAN DO THAT!" Hearing this, his wife Peggy burst into the room only to find him staring into a blank television screen, a little spit running down from the corner of his mouth. Thinking that he had finally lost all contact with reality, she sat down beside him and lovingly took his hand in hers. After several minutes of ominous silence he smiled and said, "WE'RE GOING TO MAKE MOVIES." She was now sure that his mind was gone. But being a loving wife, and knowing that disagreeing with a crazy person couls cause his head to explode, she simply smiled and said... "O.K." So, armed with ambition, talent, and little else, they set out to make dreams. But not just any dreams. Scary, bloody, spooky dreams. HORROR MOVIES!!! (It makes me tingle just writing this.) But now reality set in like a kick to the crotch. (That makes me tingle too.) How could they possibly make movies? Doesn't it take years of experience and a truck full of money? Not necessarily. If you believe it will happen, it will happen. But first they needed a story. Being members of an Old West reenactment team they had access to costumes, guns, horses, and locations. But a horror western? Why not! COWBOYS AND ZOMBIES AND BLOOD! OH MY! It just might work. So, they wrote a script, lined up their actors, and scouted locations. Finally they were ready to go. No, wait. What about equipment? You can't make a movie without equipment. Having almost no money, they looked around and found the answer in their home. Using their 15 year old vhs camcorder, three clip on lights, a 12" color t.v. for a moniter, and 600 feet of extension cord they were finally ready. History was about to be made. Now, after four years and much blood, sweat, and tears, their first two films are ready to be unleashed on the viewing world. They have learned from each film and improve with each effort. But why, you may ask, should the viewing public be limited to only their original productions? Why not make the films of others available as well? That's a really good question. You're pretty sharp, aren't you? Well, they have heard your cries and their answer is yes, yes, yes! In addition to their original productions, CATTSKILL PRODUCTIONS will endeavor to bring the efforts of other psycho film makers to the public and make them a legitimate part of the film industry. If you would like to find out more about RICHARD or PEGGY, just click on their name. There is even a picture so that you can see what they look like without blood and stuff on them. |
