Thursday, July 2 1998 (entry for Wednesday, July 1 1998)
Sorry I didn't write an entry last nite. A lot of stuff happened yesterday. First we went to the pet shop. I got to hold my hamster. It is soooo cute! I also bought it, but I won't be able to ake it home until Saturday. After that Julie and I went to Petco and bout some stuff. We bought Carefresh bedding, funnels(they're like tubes), a wheel, and some food. When we got I fixed the cage but it looks really boring. I think that it's just the grey bedding that makes it look boring. The wheel was missing a part so we have to return it. Geez I can't wait til Saturday! Bye.

Thursday, July 2 1998
Today I went shopping again for my hamster. I bought the little grass hut that Julie wanted, and a mushroom lookin think thats suposed to be a space station. We call it the Shroom Dome. The little hut s called the Julie Hut. The cage doesn't look so boring now. I traded in the wheel with the missing part and got another one. I also got those alfalfa chews that I gave my guinea pigs. Thats it for today. Bye.

Friday, July 3 1998
Today I got my hamster. It was kind of early I know. It happened like this. Dad and I were coming back from seeing the X-Files movie when I asked Dad to stop and visit my hamster in the petshop. He said ok so we went to the petshop. Kim saw us when we were coming out of the car. We were already back there looking at them when she came and took the cage off the shelf and picked up my hamster. I asked her if it was a boy or a girl and she said that she wasn't sure but she thought it was a girl. Then she told me to put a papertowel ina bowl and get it wet so the hamster could drink if can't reach the waterbottle yet. So we leave the store with the hamster in a box. When we get home I showed her to everybody and held her for a bit then put her in her cage. I watched her for a while but she went to sleep so I went down stairs. While downstairs I asked Julie for some help naming my hamster. She said that she wanted to name her after a Dj. I was like ok so she started naming djs. We decided of Aphrodite. I thought it was fitting because she is beautiful and has all my love. Even though I've only had her for only a few hours she has already chosen a nesting spot, and made a hoard. Her hoard is very small but it's there. Her nesting spot is in the corner by Julies Hut. She tryed to pull some of the bedding out of the hut so I pulled it out even more for her. Ditie (that's what ‘m going to call her for short) has even explored the shroom dome. Well she can't reach the top room yet. Right now she's running on her wheel. I feel sorry for her because she is so small that she keeps going to one side when she runs so she has to stop go back to the center and run some more. She keeps on doing this so I feel sorry for her. Something else I've noticed about her is that she wakes up then eats and then goes back to sleep. She stopped running on her wheel to get a drink. Oh ya. I know I'm supposed to leave her alone for a couple days when you first get them but I had to hold her. That reminds me. I gave her a milk sop today. I don't think she liked it very much. So far it seems she is settleing in very well. bye.

Saturday, July 4 1998
Nothing much happened today. My hamster slept most of the day. I woke her up twice and gave her a sunflower seed. She started chewing on my finger today. I think it was because I didn't wash my hand. It didn't hurt at all. Tonite I think I'm going to sleep in the gameroom with baby. Ditie also has learned how to use the wheel really good. well that's about it.

Wednesday, July 8 1998
Sorry I havent written in a while.Nothing much happened. I handle her everday. I feed her, change her water, clean her wheel and all of that basic stuff everyday. we changed her name to Hammy. Her full name is Hammy Aphrodite Bador. Jeff made up the second middle name. She doesn't have a last name though. I've been thinking about breeding her but I would need to find a male not related to her. I'd probably get one from Petco. Well thats about it for now. Bye.

Saturday, July 11 1998
I've been making hammy toys out of legos but she doesn't seem to like them. I gave her one of my littlest petshop toys to sleep in. Sometime she sleeps in it but other times she doesn't. She has tried Julies hut but doesn't eem to like it. I can't think of much else that is going on. Oh ya, I got paid today by Mrs. Baker. I got 20 dollars. I've been reading Elizabeth herkerts page and have been think about breeding her. The problem is that I think Hammy might be a boy because his butt is getting bigger. Well I think that they reach matureity at six weeks so if it gets any bigger I guess hammy is a boy. Then I'll comepare her to the picture on lorraine's site. I have also started my own site but it looks kind of rough rite now. Anyways I;ve been looking on the internet for sites about dwarf hamster gentics but to no avail. I did find one but it wasn't very good. I guess it's because there aren't very many colors. I'm still going to try to find as much information as I can. Well thats it for now. Bye.

Sorry I haven't written in a while. Nothing much happened today. Hammy has gotten a lot bigger. I wonder if I'm giving him to much to eat. I still handle him everyday. I useally keep him out for about 1/2 an hour everyday. I'm thinking to get him one of those balls to help him exersize. I got my webpage up and running and I have found out about dwarf hamster genetics. Well thats about it for now. Bye.

Tuesday, July 21 1998
Mom banded me from the computer since I go to sleep pretty late every nite and wake up late every morning(or should I say afternoon?). I think she for got about the labtop :c). Well I can't work on my page but I can do some stuff on this computer. Hammy is still fine. I think he's getting lonley cuz he sleeps all day and most of the night. I've started taking him out for an hour eachday so maybe he won't be soooo lonley. I'm still trying to get dad to let me breed because I found a cute little argente girl for Hammy. I've also saved up enough money to buy her and another cage. I also read on Elizabeth's page about a pup tank. I think I might turn Hammys cage it to the pup tank. Oh ya Hammy is a boy for sure. Right now he's running on the wheel like crazy. Lately he's been "posing" a lot on his dog biscut. He's sooo cute! He hasn't been chew very much on it though. Sometimes he drags it on to his wheel then starts running on the wheel. It make a really loud noise and he gets scared. Well thats it. Bye. (later that day) Today I got Hammy one of those hamster balls. I put him in it and he didn't know what to do so I put him on the wood floor and then he started to get the idea. He's still not very good though. When it was time for him to come I think his foot go stuck or something and he made a little noise that sounded like a scream. I felt really bad :c(. He came out then I put in his cage and he started drinking like crazy. I think I might of had in it for too long. It was only about 20 minutes. Well anyways I thought I should of said something about his new ball. I think I'm spoiling him. He has ten million toys but only uses about 4 ;c). well bye.

Nothin much has happened lately. Hammy is getting much better at running around in his ball. Sometimes his feet get stuck in the little airholes. He screams and then I feel really bad:c(.Well nothin ghas happened so I might as well go. Bye.

Sorry I haven't written in a really long time. Hammy was bleeding a couple days ago. I think he has an infected ambilicul cord but I hope I'm wrong. I it doesn't seem to bother him very much. My webpage is going great. I have a lot of pages but only a couple people have visited my page. A few days back I wrote up this really big really cool proposal for breeding my hamster and I gave it to my dad. That reminds me I have to go check in his trash can to see if he threw it away. I hope he didn't because I spent a long time on it. Anyways it was very elabrate and cool. I dont think it made him change his mind. I still am thinking to breed hammy but with a pc because I've been talking to a breeder in Dallas Who's breeding an albino and an argente. She said that she would gladly send me one of the babies when she/he is born and grown up. I've also been talking to Lorraine hill. She let me borrow one of her hamster pictures. I'm think to borrow some more if she doesn't mind. I still have to take pictures of hammy and his cage. Well thats it for now. Bye.
