DEBORAH LYNN GILBERT REED, 59, passed away
in Abilene, TX on Nov. 3, 2014.
Deborah was born to Onis and Viola Gilbert on
August 26, 1955. Deborah was the 9th of 10
children, with 3 pesky brothers just a few years
older than her. She grew up tough, defending
herself from those brothers. But she loved them.
All through her life, she was a fierce defender
of her family and her friends. Deborah had a
tender heart, and carried her feelings on her
shirt sleeves. If anyone needed something, she
would give the shirt off her back. Deborah was
born & raised in Texas where she had her children,
Jarvis and Brandon. She attended Ranger High School
in the Class of 1972/73 at Ranger, TX. She spent
several years in Washington state and Oregon,
where she married her beloved husband Pat Reed
in April of 1991. They owned & operated a small
trucking business in Oregon, before moving back
home to Texas 7 years ago.
Deborah enjoyed working in her yard with her flowers.
She would break out singing with the radio with just
about every song. Deborah had an infectious smile and
wanted everybody around her to be happy and just enjoy
life. She will be missed by her children, her grand-
children, her husband, all her remaining siblings, all
her many relatives, and all those friends she cherished.
Deborah can rest peacefully now, free of pain. She left
this world knowing we all love her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers
Donald Gilbert (RHS-1971), Charlie Gilbert (RHS-1962)
and Joseph Gilbert (RHS-1969) and two sisters Patsy
Gilbert and Kay Gilbert New (RHS-1965).
At the time of her death, Deborah was survived by her
husband, Paddy, two sons Jarvis Williamson of North
Carolina, and Brandon Williamson of North Carolina,
two grandsons; Logan and Landon Williamson and two
granddaughters; Laura and Jenny Lynn Williamson. She
is also survived by three sisters, Connie (RHS-1967,
Fred) Snyder, Starlene (Joe) Hill, and Shannon (RHS-
1983, James) Sampley and two brothers Marion (Tootsie)
Gilbert and Ronald Gilbert (RHS-1971, Rhonda Walkin)
as well as many other extended family members and
close friends.
