The story of our engagement ring started somewhere around December 2000 when Johnny started looking for the perfect sapphire. He contacted a company in Montana who mined the raw sapphire from the Montana grounds and cut the sapphire to his specifications. After he acquired the sapphire, Johnny and a friend/jeweler, Dan Burt, in Edmonds, WA began the process of creating the ring per Johnny's design. After three trips to Seattle (one of which he did not return), Johnny gave me the ring in Newport Beach, CA on August 10, 2001, a day before my cousin Anne's wedding.
